Rolands Zakis with the 2nd round pick

Post#1 » by Em Dzhei » Mon May 26, 2008 6:56 am

Ws should take Ronalds Zakis with their second round pick. Why? Becuase he is latvian and would have a great tutor in the system (AB), he is a tough player, can rebound, can shoot very well for his size.. was the best scorer in U20 last year with the latvian NT..

Currently he is projected at nr55, though Euro players tend to be under valued because they are not constantly under the coaches scope, as are the local guys.

I am not saying he will make an impact already in his first season, but he will be a tough hustle guy with a nice J who particularly excells in a running game..

I think he should be given a chance and Ws is a the most appropriate system due to AB being here..

A friend recently told me about this guy, said he wouldn't be rated fairly and that he deserved to be in the 1st round of this draft... any extended clips of the guy?

The problem is Im currently at work, so they have cut off most of the interesting sites from where I could forward material, but you should try youtube, as always..

also the main latvian sports portal esports.lv

unfortunately, there seem to be some attitude problems with Zakis, that is why is emphasized the need of a strong coach/tutor, to show him the way..

talentwise, he is very gifted physically.. which is his greatest pro.. dont know about him being able to play SF either though.. but id like him to get some burn, at least in training camps..

you should check the link:
http://esports.lv/arhivs?q=vef&author=& ... &comments=

he plays for Vef-Riga, nr30.. i could not find a single mix of his plays, but he seems to appear in these vids.

ps. you should also check out nr45, he is projected in 2009 in early 2nd round (Maxim Sheletko), he could even have more upside than Zakis..
