Yeah, I don't like giving up the pick for salary when we need to re-sign two major players.
I (and maybe others) might be interested in a deal for the #5 pick, but I can't come up with anything particularly fair.
I do like Crittenton though...Miller I can take or leave.

DECLINED. fair trade, but not what the warriors need.
I agree in principle. I am afraid the Warriors will draft a 195 lb perimeter shooter instead-in which case Miller would have been a far better option.
Warriors are very unlikely to spend the TPE. All signs have pointed to a swing toward frugality-or at least staying out of the Lux Tax.
CENSORED... No comment.

Actually, the main target is Josh Smith, not Monta. In a dream world, Grizz lineup would be something like this:
PG- Conley/Lowry
SG- Mayo (#5)/Budinger (#14)
SF- Gay/Walker(#28 )
PF- Smith/Warrick
C- M.Gasol/Milicic/ Dorsey (#49)
I think with this team, Grizzlies can let Monta be yours

As your deal is stated it goes:
Trade Exception for Miller (9mil)
Crittenden for #14 & #49
Are you freakin kiddin me? Maybe crittenden for the #49.
We can get a better player than him with the #14.
and like Floppy said, the FO is not using the TE.
If it were me I'd go Miller for the TE, and just leave the rest alone.

I like the trade, I think Miller is just what the Warriors need. He is a legitimate 3pt marksman (.432) and can contribute on the boards, a constant Warrior need. I really liked Critt in last years draft. I think his size would make him a very good fit next to Monta in the future, he has a lot of potential.
However, as has been previously noted, there are luxury tax issues to be addressed. This trade is great if Cohan is willing to bite the luxury tax bullet for one maybe two seasons, but that is a big "if". There is also a great need for more size Al Harrington doesn't play big, and Wright and Biedrins are skinny bigs that can be pushed around.
I could see this trade happening if there were another move involved, possibly Baron to the Knicks for Marbury and the #6 or maybe Al in a deal for a first round pick or someone like Villanueva from the Bucks.

Miller can be acquired anytime. The price would definitely start with the #14 pick and some combination of (guaranteed) immediately expiring contracts. If you take Brian Cardinal off of their hands, they might include Lowry or Crittenton.
Memphis wants more cap relief, always, and is being built for sale.
Their draft picks are staying in their possession.
They do not want any part of Harrington or Jackson.
They do not want any part of Baron Davis in person, either.
But they are among an ever expanding list of teams with strong interest in Baron Davis' expiring contract once it becomes a real commodity.
Memphis is in excellent position to add three or more players in this year's first round, including the #5 overall pick, and shed salary even more to increase sale price on a loaded and cheaply maintained transition roster primed for relocation and major play in successive great FA markets. They have disposable coaching and front office personnel.
Baron would not see the floor in Memphis and would be immediately flipped for some other combination of expiring contracts and recently drafted talent.
If you're the type who really likes Miller and Lowry or Crittenton and perhaps also would like to see about a S&T for Navarro, it's more than doable. Without accompanying proactive moves of Harrington and Jackson, this seems like a great way to do Memphis a lot of favors and let them be better than the Warriors even faster than the current schedule since Miller, though often much better than Harrington and Jackson, is still injury-prone and sometimes NOT better than Jackson and Harrington.
