The Inability to Score on The Road is Frustrating
Outside of the game 3 vs Detroit, this team continues to struggle on the road. The defense was pretty good again today outisde of Perkins who kept on leaving McDyess open all game. It's too bad our offense can't hold it's own.
One of the main problems is we don't have enough offensive weapons. You couldn't say this at the start of the season but now you can with the abduction of Ray Allen(where has this guy gone). Pierce and KG have become the only offense threats on this team as Ray Allen continues to struggle.
As for our bench, the only offensive weapon we have is Eddie House, a guy that hardly ever plays. This is becoming a noticeable problem and going forward into next year, Danny Ainge needs to add more offense to this team. It's different at home because the role players feed of the energy from the fans and get benfits of the doubt from the refs.

Well, Rondo is an offensive weapon against the second tier point guards. The thing is that he's young and lacks confidence, so even against a banged up Billups he has not been able to take it strong to the hoop.
Tony Allen and Leon Powe may make mistakes, but each can create their own offense as well. Neither have even sniffed daylight and I'm beginning to wonder if it isn't a big part of why the Celtics have struggled so much on the road.

I'm sorry but Rondo is not an offensive threat yet. He is capable of scoring 15-20 points once in a well. I'm talking about guys that can score on a regular basis. As far as Tony Allen and Powe, they are not in our rotation right now. And who knows about if TA will ever be the same player again.
IMO, we need to find a replacement for TA. I would still try to sign him for a small 1-2 year contract in the hopes that he can make a comeback. But he is not the same player as he was.

Almost true, TA is still worse than Ray, but Ray has been pretty bad all playoffs.
If TA tried to defend Rip, he would foul out in 10 minutes, he jumps at every pump fake. Ray at least can drive and occassionally pass.

TA is an effective weapon..he can slash better than Ray. Ray is giving us NOTHING. Rip is abusing him and Ray is not even willing o take layups... bench his sorry ass.

Why did this thread turn into Ray vs. Tony Allen. Ray played bad again, but so did everyone else. It wasn't Ray's fault we lost but he didn't help us either. Here is the shooting:
1. KG: 6-16
2. Pierce : 3-14
3. Allen: 2-8
4. Rondo: 2-8
5. Cassell: 0-3
6. Davis: 1-4
We shot 31.8% as a team to Detroit's 51.4%.

After every loss Doc talks how our defense wasn`t there. But our biggest problem is our offense. To play good defense you just need to come out with intensity and energy but to play good offense you need much more than that.
I don`t even know what our offensive plan was last night. KG was getting the ball at three point line...Nothing really made sense. When Rondo is being as passive as he was and we have to play 4 on 5 again we always have troubles scoring. We just need better spacing to give KG and Paul more room to operate. It is simple, when Rondo is out of his element House must play. He brings energy, he gives us a scoring weapon and most importantly gives us more spacing, which I think is the key for this team offensively.

Every time we play with defensive intensity, we score.
It's when we jog around on D, and teams score, then we mope on offense.
It even happens during games. That's why we've seen so many 8-0, 10-0 runs in both directions. We play D, get stops, then our offense clicks, and suddenly we get a run. Then they score, we start moping, and they go on a run.
This team needs a bit more mental toughness. But it starts on the defensive end.

We were also jogging on offense. The only person running up the floor was Rondo. He had to stop and wait for the other players.
We lacked energy going into this game, both on offense and defense. Mark Jackson said it right in replying to what Pierce said. Pierce stated that the pressure was on Detroit. Jackson said that this way of thinking was wrong and that the pressure should be on us. I agree with that.
Look at game 3, the pressure was on us and we responded with great energy and ergency and came up with a W.
This team lacks leadership, be it the coach or the players. Game 4 was an oppurtunity to take a huge advantage in the series and this team didn't rise to the occasion. That is why we played like the first 6 road games, awful, uninspired games.
