Redd/#8 for Howard/Hudson/Snyder/#3

Post#1 » by LUKE23 » Wed May 28, 2008 2:52 pm

Kind of a weird one to make work given the salaries, but given Minny's interest in Love/Lopez, and the strong possibility one is available at 8, anyone think they would do this?

To Minny: Redd/#8

To Milwaukee: #3/Howard (expiring)/Hudson (two years remaining)/Snyder (qualifying offer next season)

Bucks get a legit all-around playmaking and defensive SG, along with a little bit of cap flexibility, Wolves get a proven 20+ ppg scorer to go with Jefferson, and still can get either Love or Lopez at #8 most likely.

Leaves the Bucks with a Sessions/Mayo/Yi/Bogut core, plus whatever they obtain for Mo/CV if they are moved.

Wolves fans thoughts on this deal?

Juwon and Hudson have been bought out and can't be traded.

You might try to get to the same place with Antoine Walker and Buckner's expirings. However, I wouldn't do it. Redd's overpaid for his skillset. I'd prefer keeping the younger Mayo and using the expirings to go after a max deal free agent. Its not an unfair offer though.

Michael Redd is #7 on the statistical "Most Over-rated" list

There's talk in two other threads about this deal where Redd is replaced by Bogut.

It's a great idea but it wouldn't work. Redd is worth the #3 straight up to a veteran team. The problem is the Wolves are a long ways off.
Mayo is just getting started. Redd is at his best now. The Wolves are at least 2-3 years away from their best team b-ball. It would make no sense to trade for a guy at the peak of his game when most of the guys on our team still have a lot of growing to do.

If your offering Redd around, try a team like Dallas or Phoenix.
He is a much better fit there.

I haven't checked salaries, but our expirings are Walker and Buckner...Redd isn't really what we need. Maybe there's a creative 3 way deal to be done, but it seems unlikely
Thriving on mediocrity since '89.

Posts with as many problems as this ought to be locked. I don't even want to get into it.
