A LeBron observation

Let's be real here, Lebron isn't really a talented player. Take away his strength, and he's left with nearly nothing. He doesn't have a jumpshot, he can't post up and he doesn't have a crossover.

Wanna see true talent? Paul Pierce. This guy barely gets any lift when he jumps, isnt that fast nor athletic, but he gets the job done.

^LMAO. He's one of the most unique talents that this game has ever seen. His combination of size-athleticism-strength and skills are what makes him a unique talent and he is the pioneer of a new generation which will be taller, faster, more athletic and skilled. I think these count a lot.

Take away his strength? He's not Samson and you aren't Delilah. Not only can you not take away his strength but strength is probably the last physical ability to start to diminish.

Any way, Lebron is not playing with "cast-offs". His supporting cast is underrated. However, I do agree that he needs help. He's one consistent second option away from competing for a title.

When you have the size , speed and strenght of Lebron or Ron Artest you don't need no good to move

He's playing with a bunch of scrubs...

unless Clevlend gets another real All-Star it's gonna be same story next season

Agreed. Your argument is useless. It's like saying, "take away Shaq's size and he wouldn't be a dominant center." or "take away Paul's handle amd he wouldn't be the point guard he is." Thanks for pointing out the obvious.
Are these rumors about Redd being sought out by the Cavs true? That would be a biggg pick up for them.

Kobe has the desire, but not necessarily every physical tool available to him and time is not on his side anymore.

The 'hunger' or 'desire' is part of the wiring, it can't be taught. He either has it now or he doesn't. He did say once that he didn't quite have Kobe's killer instinct, correct? He could have been playing the humble card, but the truth has a way of coming out even in humility.

He made that "I don't have a killer instict like Kobe" comment in 05-06 season, but in the same interview he also said that "I just want to be the best player on the court every time I step out there". So if it's all about words, I don't think he lacks desire or hunger. And we saw a lot of games this year where he won the games in the 4th quarter single handidly. "LeBron lacks killer instict" has turned into an old and wrong cliche.

I thought about it, and LeBron actually does have a go to move. It's the fadeaway. It doesn't seem signature because he too often takes it from 3-4 feet behind the arc and it doesn't drop often. But I think as his jumper improves with time, and he spends a lot of time in the playoffs, he'll start to hit those more consistently. He'll make big baskets that will be memorable. And then we will think of it as a true "go-to" move. Right now, he merely undeservedly uses it as such.

The Cavs blew away the rest of the league in 4th quarter comebacks in 2008.

a jumper won't make LeBron a more effecient option. It won't make his fg% go up, maybe his TS% but that stat is overated because a miss is a loss possesion wether you shot a 3 or a 2. You don't get more efficent then layups and dunks. Jumpers just make you settle for fadeaways in the regular season or during blowouts. That said he needs to get one for diffrent reasons.

Right now he is the perfect #1 option. He is perfect for the playoffs where strength can be used without fouls being called unlike the regular season. He also can seemingly can make any pass against any defense.

There already are only about 5 players at the 3 spot that can be in his league strength wise [Artest,Pierce,Odom,Butler..someone else] and that just goes to show how he'll always have this advantage. The kind of strenght LeBron is rare for any wing in the NBA and I don't see super humans being born to take this away from him.

What getting a jumper and go to move will do is allow him to be a teammate other then being a #1 option. It will allow him to take advantage of having other teammates and a real PG. Honestly right now what do you want, LeBron set up for an open three thanks to good ball rotation and PG play. Or for the PG to stay behind the 3 and get out of LeBron's way?

LeBron's lack of basektball skills is exaclty the reason why his cast right now is built very well for HIM as a player. The last thing CLE should want to see if LeBron taken a slighty contested jumper from 17 feet thanks to his teammates play when they could be having a and1 opportunity with a LeBron iso.

As he evolves to adding a jumper or post game he will get more use out of his teammates to preserve his body and save his energy but right now it's just not in anyone's intrest for him to not be the offense

In the playoffs however you'll always want the players around him to be very good at standing and seeing if LeBron wants to pass the ball to them. Because you're never going to get a better play then LeBron driving to the hoop or passing it to an open shooter. He's just the perfect #1 option right now.

That's 5. And in a couple years Pierce will be suspect with speed to make him relevant.

5 out of 30 teams can only hope to slightly matchup with him with the first defender.
