Tony Allen Possibly Out for Series with Injury

Tony Allen won't play tonight thanks to a sprained right achilles. He tweaked it yesterday at the end of practice, playing a four way one-on-one with Glen Davis, Gabe Pruitt, and Rajon Rondo.

"For something unfortunate like this to happen," he said. "It's just crazy to me."

Allen of course has a thing for those what the eff moments. Recall he had to shutdown his 2007 season after tearing his ACL, dunking a ball after the play was whistled dead.

Doc Rivers said Brian Scalabrine was activated in Allen's place.

It looked like the Allen, Pruitt, Davis and Rondo were just goofing around, but Allen said the one-on-one's were part of the team's routine.

"I was playing good too," Allen said

For what it's worth, that dunk last year wasn't half bad either.

I'm sorry to hear that. Doc probably should have used him more when he had the chance! Oh well. One more injury and Pruitt could have his chance to break out!

I am pretty sure Tony Allen missed that dunk resulting in the injured knee.

I kind of wish they had brought in TA just to start a fight with Rip. It's one of the only ways the Celtics could actually keep him under control...
