What would it take for us to move down into Mayo territory? Felton+9? More?

huh? Someone will fall to 9. They have like 12 guys being taken in the top 7 right now. Augustin may go 7, Love may go 3, Jordan has a lock in the top 5, etc. The Bobcats will get someone they like at 9....either Love, Augustin, Westbrook, or Randolph. No way you give up Felton to try to get Mayo.....you may get Mayo at 9. You have Rose, Beasley, Bayless, Lopez, Jordan, Augustin, Gallinari, and Love all locked in or rumored to be in the top 8. That leaves Mayo, Westbrook, and Randolph all there at 9.......someone will be there.

I'm thinking the Bobcats will pick in this order......Love, Augustin, Mayo, Randolph, and Westbrook. Yes I think they will pick Augustin if Mayo is available.

there are two things that i am certain about in this draft (beyond beasley and rose) and those two things are... love and mayo will not drop. i could see anyone else going anywhere in the top 10 based on other factors, with any of them going as high as 3 and as low as 10, but i am certain that both love and mayo will go early.

but, cash makes a good point, someone we like alot will be around at 9 (dj, anthony, westbrook)

Just FYI, here in Minnesota we have heard the front office wants Lopez, Mayo, Love, Gallinari, Gordon, Randolph, and Bayless all at one point or another. McHale was on the radio today stating how Mayo and Foye would work really nicely together in the backcourt. Everything is just smoke and mirrors at this point.

Reason I stopped by. Someone posted a #9 + Okafor trade for #3 + Jaric. The more I think of it, the more is seems ridiculously unplausible and unbalanced. Figured I would ask about it and see what the consensus was here though. Blow it away as you see fit. I couldn't see why you would want to move up that badly. Mayo should be the 3, and your wings are pretty full with players, and Felton is a young PG (though I didn't know how happy you were with him). Mayo at point for the Bobcats? Was Bayless highly coveted? I just don't see it, and didn't see wanting to trade Okafor and pick for it. Had to ask about it though.

Absolutely no way that happens. CHA and MIN aren't good trading partners. We aren't looking to get younger, so the only asset on your team that we would want is Jefferson, which is obviously off limits.

Very much agree. I think we are both looking for the right partner for our young bigs. Only way I see anything happening is if Okafor doesn't want to resign with Char or if he wants more money than your FO would be willing to sign him for and decide to S&T him for something rather than him leave and end up with nothing. I don't see either of those happening though.

The poster who mentioned it wasn't a regular on the MN board so I came by to check it out. Anyhow, good luck with the draft. As mentioned, someone is most likely going to slide and someone will reach for another, I just hope MN makes the right call and picks BPA, not for need.

Out of curiousity, who would ahve you selected at #3 if given the chance? With the #9, how do you see your line up shaking out for next year? And has Felton worn out his welcome or are you still happy with what he has been providing? Between J.Rich, G. Wallace, and Morrsion it just seems you have too much invested at the wing (SF especially) and that roster balance may be an issue for you as well. (MN being the poster child for too many guards and wings and not enough bigs).

I really didn't want the 3 pick because the player picked at that spot could easily be picked at 8 or 9. 3-10 is the same to me. No way I would trade up for 3. If the Bobcats would have had the 3rd pick they should have tried to trade down. If the selection had to be made then it may have been Love or Mayo.

MIN posters want Mayo at #3 by a 4:1 margin

SEA posters want Mayo at #4 by a 2:1 margin

I don't think he slips past three, but if that happens, I doubt there's any way he's not nabbed by SEA at #4.
