I too think Walker could be a very good player, but the 6th pick is way to early for him. He's more of a late first/ early second round pick unless he is really impressive during workouts then maybe he can move up into the teens. Even with that said the sixers would not have to trade up in the draft to get Walker.

Sorry Dedicated. I know it's your plan but you lost me when you called for the aqusituion of Curry. I don't see how he fits in here when Stefanski wants to run an up-tempo style of play.
The other thing is that Andre Miller is a West Coast guy. Why would he want to stay in NYC if he doesn't want to stay in Philly? It would be a big gamble on the Knicks part if they trade for him. I think Ed is going to try to keep him although if it comes down for a trade I think Miller to the Lakers for Odom makes sense.
An interesting situation to watch would be the TJ Ford/Calderon drama in Toronto. I think either one could be had for the right price.
The wild card in all of this is Igoudala. Can we keep him at a fair price? Or will he force a trade? I think this could be one of the most interesting off seasons in a while.

Nooo way o I take on Eddy Curry, even if we get the 6th pick back. He cannot play PF and has been on a losing team almost every year he has been in the league. Give me Randolph instead of him.
I do agree that Walker is gonna be an NBA player. I think as they work players out, his value is just going to go up and might workhimself into a mid first round pick. Last year he was a top 6-7 prospect before he got injured so watch out for him.

I wanted the time I wasted on reading your post back once I read Eddie Curry's name. I thought to myself that "Hey, well it can't possibly get any worst right?" then up comes JR Smith's name. What are you trying to do to my Sixers? If you all thought that I was over the top on Iggy this season you have no idea what I would be like around here if we had Curry and JR Smith stinking up the joint with their brand of "fantasy basketball." Please no.
You presented some interesting names in Quinn and Sessions but Lindsey Hunter is already a player/coach and might even be the next coach of the Pistons one day so he is retiring once his Pistons days are done. He has no place on a young developing team. The Sixers need PLAYERS and can't afford the luxury of wasting a roster spot that could be spent on a developing player on an over the hill guard that has never been a pure PG.
I have watched Quinn play closely and he has a lot of John Paxson in him. He is a tough player with a very close to automatic 3 point shot at a fairly young age.
Sessions set the world on fire with his late season play but I doubt the Bucks trade him until they see more of what he is about. The Bucks don't want to be known as the team that traded away an all star PG for table scraps. Sessions could be the next Nash/KJ/Terrel Brandon/Ben Wallace NBA player that started their great career off on the bench.

Worse comes to worse, Miller gives them 9 more mill for the LBJ sweepstakes. They take this trade no matter what I guarantee.

Then I'd much rather Ford since I don't want to play a back-up 7 million a year.

Sendem: The way you feel about Iguodala is the same way I feel about big men. I'm passionate for legitimate big men. And Eddy Curry's ability to score in the paint, especially if we have a good defensive perimeter core.(Like we do in Thad and Iggy) alongside Dalembert. Curry suddendly looks good here. He never looked good in Chi-Town with a weakside shotblocker in Tyson Chandler, and in No-D land called NY. But here we have a decent system and Curry can benefit from it.

Then it's a good thing he's a restricted free agent right? I doubt the Bucks throw 5-7 million at an unproven commodity. While we can afford it if we have 2 young PG'S.

How many keystrokes had to die to make this thread possible?
For just pennies a day you can help an innocent keystroke from falling into the hands of a misguided poster. For the price of a cup of coffee you can provide a keystroke with the confidence and purpose necessary to avoid becoming part of inane offseason plan concocted for an NBA franchise by a madman.
Keystrokes are our future...let's preserve them and use them wisely.
(No keystrokes were harmed in the making of this post....all typing was accomplished usinig voice recognition software...kind-of like in 2001:A Space Odyssey only without the Kubrickian silence and whatnot)

man i can't believe you didn't hear this story. Dedicated sixers fan is a group name for The guilty party, Sixerscan, sixersfan 1976, Dbods, ricky and billy king. Their plan is to take over realgm through the sixers forum. They would be brilliant manipulators of the english language but 6 people typing on one keyboard creates incoherent babble. oh yeah and billy king slept with one of the female mods. thats was unfortunate.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

I'm assuming with this plan that Iggy and L Williams is going to be re-signed.
Curry's not a PF, he's a C. I think the best fit for him is if he's paired with a bruising PF ie Haslem, someone that can do the dirty work for him. I just don't see him playing well with Dalembert. I concur with another poster that, given the choice between Curry and Randolph, I would pick Randolph. Z-Bo can shoot and rebound if he wanted to. He just needs to drop some of that weight.
Walker is a little high at the 6. However, who knows once the workouts and camps are done. With the 6th pick, I would take at shot at Mayo if he falls to that position.
Quinn's a decent, mid level pickup. However, another PG that could be available is Udrih. Could be a little more pricey but definitely worth and inquiry before investing in Quinn. No chance Lindsay Hunter comes over from the Pistons. I think at his stage of his career, he would rather be winning championships rather than teaching scrubs how to play the point.
JR Smith would be OK; problem is that he shot selection really needs to be curtailed. However, I personally would rather have Childress.

I hope we don't take anyone off the Knicks hands. That would only be helping a division rival in their quest to rebuild.
I also don't trust Curry's health...he had that heart issue awhile back and IIRC insurance companies wouldn't give him a policy because of it. He may be playing o.k., but as he ages on that contract I'm not sure I'd take the risk. He also doesn't show the passion or desire that really fits what Philly basketball is about. 6 rebounds a game from someone his size isn't cutting it.

Curry is a PF?
Walker is the target @ 6?
Miller could be traded in another deal where the Sixers get multiple picks after 16, and they still could have a net gain of Walker + a Kirkland brand big man. I think Miller's greatest net value to this team is trading him during the draft/before the season, but I can't see the fit in NY.

yea i cant see Miller a fit in D'Antoni's system...
he usually likes shooters and Miller doesnt have that long range threat in him...The Knicks are actually probably better off having Marbury run the team.
plus i wouldnt give him away for fat Eddy Curry

Bill Walker is 2nd round talent at best...the dude only scored more than 20 points in 9 of 33 games....in 32 minutes against Iowa St. he scored 9 points. Terrible.
Not only is he not ready for the NBA, but he also only had 2 games out of those 33 that he shot 3-4 from 3pt land, and the rest he didn't do well.
Not what we want or need out of a SG. We already know we are lookin for a sharpshooter.
Not only that, but Iggy does not fit at the SG spot, and Curry does NOT fit next to Daly.
So your proposed lineup is garbage IMO. We get rid of our best player and replace him with L-Will, who is not a PG and isn't ready to take that spot. And we put Iggy and Curry out of place.
I think the perfect offseason would be to acquire one player in particular. Brook Lopez. We need to find a way to get this kid. He is projected as a C, but I see him as a Tim Duncan type player. He has good control, body presence, shooting touch around the rim, an array of low post moves, and a decent shooting range for a big. He can block shots and run the floor fairly well. He would anchor our Offense with low post scoring. Fitting well next to Daly to create the next twin towers.
And kicking the ball out to Thad, or having Thad and Brook play the 2 man offense.
I would trade Iggy, our pick, and Utah's pick to get the 3rd or 4th pick and nab him.
Just running out there with Daly, Brook and Thad for the next 5 years means we can find a SG and PG in the next few seasons and make a serious run right before Daly starts to decrease from his peak.
Anywho, if I had an NBA franchise, I certainly wouldn't mind building it around Brook and Thad.
