Thats awful ....

A lotto pick , significant cap relief and a young player is WAY too much for Wilcox .

Swift + Mwill + 40th for Wilcox is something i would do but i wouldn't give up anything of significant .

Seeing as I'm already hoping for Thorn to trade Sean and the pick for Melvin ely, I would do that chris wilcox trade in a second...

Wow.

It's like people can't recognize sarcasm without the green font. :-?

Anyway, I am big on getting Wilcox, but this is close to a package worthy of Elton Brand.

I heard the cheebs are good up there in the Emerald City, but man......

A fair trade for Wilcox would probrably be something like the 21st and Van Horn or Sean Williams, Swift and our 2nd rounder.

I would send Marcus Williams, the 21st, our 2nd rounder Van Horn and Swift for Wilcox and Ridnour.

If Wilcox can net about 16-18 ppg in the post, rebound effectively and block some shots, cool.

"A fair trade for Wilcox would probrably be something like the 21st and Van Horn or Sean Williams, Swift and our 2nd rounder. "

An expiring contract and two guys that cannot average more than 5 ppg plus yet another second ???? You cannot be serious. Wilcox was a #8 pick and has just developed into a consistent low post scorer. By himself he is a better value than all but two guys in this draft. Everyone else is a project. The suggestion that you would get both Wilcox and Ridnour is even more insulting. We don't need your garbage. Shove it where the sun don't shine.

Wilcox would have been a good fit if Kidd was still around. but now there is no need for Wilcox we need a polish big man like JO or Brand.

Wilcox is garbage anyway. He's not the power forward we need

and you're right, I actually laughed at that deal.

Wilcox (6.75mil expiring)
#24 pick in 2008 draft
Spurs 2009 1st round pick (which the Sonics own)

For Sean Williams
Trenton Hassell

Does this offer seem a bit more reasonable?

Wait...are you a sonics fan or a nets fan. If you're a sonics fan, I would gladly thank you for the offer and sign on the bottom line. I'll take 2 first round picks and wilcox for S-Will and Hassel (who we'll never use the majority of the time he's on our roster).

If you're a Nets fan, keep dreaming a deal like this would fall in our laps. Thorn is good when it comes to trades but even I didn't think he would be that good.

He's a seattle fan, and I'd do it for Seattle as well.

I'd pass. Not all that interested in Wilcox or the guys that will be available at 24. I'd prefer to keep Williams upside and shot-blocking.

Also I'm not so sure Seattle fans understand Sean's game currently. He can't play center full time (spot minutes there really) and he is too foul prone to start right now. He has a ways to go offensively but he has an excellent foundation as his jumper has good form with an extremely high release point, his handle is good (but very loose), he can finish with both hands, and he is comfortable (though not good yet) playing on the block. His man D is inconsistent especially when he has to step out and guard on the perimeter. He also has mental lapses though his second effort after a mistake is top notch showing that he really does care.

Sean Williams has a lot of talent and potential, but he is not an answer for the Sonic's frontcourt.

With that deal I'm just loving the idea of having 7 1st round picks over the next 3 years. If we couldn't make a package for a legit star to come to NJ/Brooklyn with those kind of assets, then I don't know what will. Wilcox is an expiring and good enough for a 1 year experiment. If he doesn't pan out, a lot of teams are gonna want that contract at the deadline. He wants his big payday too so I personally think he's gonna have a solid year next year. Hassel is meaningless to us and basically the deal is Williams for Wilcox and 2 first rounders. I'm sorry 99 times out of 100 I would personally pack Williams bags.
