You would think Collins would do better than Washington now that he doesn't have Jordan controlling the team. You could tell how much he regretted taking that job.

Avery Johnson was practically begging for the job a few days ago. They also could have waited for Shaw or Thibodeau.

And is still unemployed after being fired because his team folded three straight years.

Yep - he's a great candidate - I wonder why no one has interviewed him.

I can argue that that Wizards team wasn't that much talented either. They were in the total bottom before Doug an MJ joined them.

They had Rip 1 year and he was out a lot that yera and so was MJ.

The next year they had Stackhouse but he was also injured a lot that year as well.

Because Johnson was begging for a job, that makes him a better candidate?

Johnson hasn't been able to get past the 1st rd of the playoffs the past 2 seasons, and even when he won COY honors in 2005/2006 he made a lot of silly errors/adjustments here and there which were very evident as time went on.

Shaw is an unproven commodity, he can be just as good/bad as Johnson.

What other better candidates are there? None really.

His in-game adjustments, IMO, are one of the worst in the league (though you can probably find worse; George Karl?)

I still vividly remember him calling questionable calls and questionable plays during the Finals, especially after game 2 that made anyone with half a brain go "what in the world is he doing that for, now?"

God I hope they hire Collins. ANYTHING to get him off TNT, where he is absolutely the worst, most patronizing, condescentding, boring, anme-dropping color analyst of all time. I hit the mute button every time I hear his voice.

He is a great x's and o's guy. His problem was that he was an emotional roller coaster throughout the course of a season always taking losses too harshly. He showed his players how much losses affected him and one of those affects is his people skills. The man can coach but he might more of an assistant than a head coach.

I remember when he cried after we won a game. I think it was against the Bulls. There's no crying in basketball!!!

This will be interesting...

I like the hiring, he has great knowledge of the game and really relates to his players, though his voice is a bit irritating I enjoyed hearing him on TNT and will be missed, especially if it means more Reggie.... :nonono:
