I feel that we are starting harvesting the fruit!

I remember before that ther are a lot criticism that KG are old, may he opt out after this coference,KG cannot lead the Boston to next playing level in the Boston garden, KG already got the peak of his career and starting going down etc. where they are?.....

The KG trade was hugely popular with the fans of the team, IMHO. These boards don't always represent the real feelings of the fan at large.

The "no one over 25 crowd" mantra pushed by JSimon has died a horrible death. Much like the "Ewing theory" mantra pushed by other equally wrong posters..

I think the "hardcore" fan likes to feel the are more knowledgable then your casual fan (which makes up the majority of a teams fan base).. Casual fans like stars and anytime you can trade for a star they are happy. KG is a superstar.

Before the trade all the fans I knew thought PP was the only guy on the C's who could really play. Now we have three guys. How can you not like that?

Let me ask you this now:

Earlier in the thread, someone posted half of you thought that Al and the #5 was too much for Garnett.

Now that you've seen KG in action, do you think MIN wanting Al and the #5 was a fair price?

You always lose when trading superstars - you have to factor in salary and leverage. Compared to Gasol we paid too much. :P

They didnt get AL and the #5 but either that or the package they got was fair, it was time for them to rebuild and they should be happy with the new centerpierce of their team Big AL.

The Ray Allen trade was more one-sided that the KG one, but that's the price to acquire one of the best players EVER.

We gave absolute garbagge and a pick for Ray and a future all-star for KG...

Don't get me started on the deals. We overpayed compared to what the lakers got for gasol. But it doesn't matter. I was for this trade since day 1.

As soon as ray got traded to us, and I believe it was dickerson who speculated that this will lead to something else, something big, and he mentioned KG. I followed it all summer, and when things started to look like maybe it would just be a deadline deal for a camby or someone else like that, Mike Gorman was like "Keep KG in mind, I keep hearing the rumblings." And then boom it happened, and I was ecstatic.

Anything less than a championship only benefits the owners wallets for the present. Every fan here loved the trade only for the thought of another championship or more in Boston, so I'll hold total judgement until we win a championship or he retires.

I don't buy the championship or bust theory.

I am glad the owners put the C's back in contention. I don't believe any mix of Gerald Green, Ryan Gomes, Delonte West, Jeff Green and Al Jefferson would equal anything more then mediocrity which is the worst place you can be in the NBA.

History favours the bold. You have to take risks if you want to win it all.

I was pretty much doing the same and luckily enough to put a $10 bet at 100:1 odds of the C's winning it all the day before the KG trade. If the C's win then I win $1000. Go Celtics!!!
