The thing that bothered me, and Phil too apparently, was all the soft-ass crap he threw up on offense. Seemed like he had at least one or two plays a game where he had an angle to the rim yet Duncan was able to overpower him for the block. Take those up with two hands and dunk it in his face.

Unfortunately, we're just going to have to live with the fact he's a finesse player, just like with Kobe we have to live with the fact that he's going to take a handful of high-difficulty shots a game.

Everything else, other than the incessant whining, didn't really bother me too much. I never took the gestures he made as a negative, and I never felt like he mentally checked out at any point, a la Smush. Indeed, one of the things I was most impressed with was his ability to bounce back and make his presence felt on the glass after getting worked over in the first three games.

Overall, I'd only rate two out of the five games as poor, and one of those (Game 2) came in a blowout so it didn't really make any difference. Otherwise, he turned in three solid performances against one of the very best big men to ever play the game:

19 pts, 7 rbs in Game 1
10 pts, 10 rbs, 6 assts in Game 4
12 pts, 19 rbs, 4 blcks in Game 5

And again, while he'll never be confused with Charles Oakley or Dennis Rodman, the bottom line is that Duncan had a horrible shooting series, and double-teams or not, Pau was the one with primary responsibility.

Overall, I give him a C+, perhaps a B- if I'm feeling generous.

Kobe, on the other hand, gets an A+. I still marvel at how efficient he was, and how well he scored, despite not getting to the foul line hardly at all. To put up two 25-point halves, and shoot 53% in a series on mostly jumpers, against a defender like Bruce Bowen is a remarkable feat. Kobe is truly in his prime right now.

Woooooooooooooooo What a performance by Kobe and the team. Feels good to be in the finals.

We started off bad and dull but was able to come back off of that Spurs 17 point lead and we were able to show that we can comeback again and win again.

Cant wait for June 5, everybody gotta be ready for that. Kobe, Fish and Phil gotta get the guys use to that feeling in the finals, they cant be shock when they get their and play awful. We know Kobe is going to do his thing but we need more guys to step up and be consitant.

Lets Go Lakers!!!

Back to the Finals Baby!!!!!

I am the happiest person in the world right now and I'm so glad we were able to fight back and get the win. This team has proved me wrong time and time again this season and I couldn't be happier.

Anyone else noticed Farmar yelling "We ain't done nothing yet" at the end of the presentation?

Kobe ws like all smiles and must have been quite a relief. Lets just sit back and root for Detroit. If its Boston, God save Gasol's soft ass with Perkins and KG defending him. He'd get knocked around all the place and that could quite well destroy our rebonding positions too.

Back to the Finals!

Great work by this team. Couldn't be more proud. Good to see Bynum walking around too.

Alex (NYC): The TNT guys cut off your press conference question last night...how mad are you on a scale of 1 to 10?

SportsNation J.A. Adande: (1:46 PM ET ) Actually, I'm not mad because Chuck and Ernie apologized and gave me a shout-out. You, the viewers should be mad because both Pop and Kobe (I'm not sure which interview was cut away from) gave pretty good answers to my questions. (But you can find both quotes in my Daily Dime story today...shameless plug)

haha gotta love adande

Everybody will get their wish of a Celtics/Lakers Finals.

wow is this series going to be historic, I am betting the ratings will be off the roof. Probably the highest rating for this decade?
