Even though they lost the series, he is still a good player.

I don't think Manu is overrated. He's an excellent player, and he clearly deserved his all nba 3rd team selection this season IMO. Having said that, he had a horrible series for various reasons.

Kobe is obviously on a level by himself when it comes to SGs, and Manu isn't really close there (to Kobe), but he's a hell of a player when healthy.

I love how when a player is having a down series/year, all the Haters come out of the woods.

Meanwhile, while that same player was busy winning champioinship rings and driving to the hole at will, those same Haters were busy jerking off in those woods in misery.

Get over it.

Ginobili remains hard to rank for NBA fans. I rank him as a top 5 SG in the same tier as T-Mac and Wade. This year might have been the first were Manu underachieved in the playoffs. Just a down year or a beginning of an end?

I don't see how anybody can rank him with Wade or McGrady, that's overrating him IMO..you guys are comparing him to proven #1 options, even a guy that led a team to a title as the #1..Ginobili is way too inconsistent to be ranked with guys like that..

+1

Manu has yet to do anything on his own, just yet.

Thank you. People think that saying Manu isn't in the same league as a wade or a tmac is a knock on him, it's not. He's a great player. Great D, a solid scorer when he's hot. Many teams would love to have him. However, he's just not in the same league as proven number 1 options.

Agreed. And I have felt this way for a while. The whole "haters coming out of the woodwork" only seems like its happening because NBA fans have a very "what have you done for me lately" perspective, so there is some backlash from Spurs fans overrating Manu in every playoff topic the past few weeks. My regard for Manu and my expressions in recent topics have nothing to do with my posting in these recent threads.

I realize that Manu is going to be hot and cold. He was cold all series against the Lakers. I know that's not the norm. But I know it happens often enough for Manu.
