Before Tonight's Game, What Would You Say To The Team?

Post#1 » by Matt34520 » Fri May 30, 2008 8:54 pm

I'd say:

We can win this game only under one condition, if we play as desperate to win as they do. Otherwise, you might aswell not even go out there. If your going to play relaxed feeling that you can just win on Sunday instead, leave this locker room now. Paul, you said you wanted help, we got it for you. Kevin, you said you need help, we got it for you. Ray, this is your time to step up aswell, you got two perennial all stars on your side.

The rest of you also need to step up and play right, don't play scared. If you get a shot, go for it. Don't be scared of tonight, theres nothing to be scared about. This is basketball, not a war. Play basketball, and play it right. Floor these ********, thery're laughing at you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your going to let them walk all over you!!!!!If Buster Douglass came to fight Mike Tyson scared, would he of won? HELL NO! But he wasn't scared, and he knocked him on his ***!!!!

(SCREAMING)

YOUR WERE THE BEST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE ALL YEAR!!!!!WHO CARES ABOUT THEIR FANS, TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR OWN DESTINY!!!!!!!!YOU CAN WIN IF YOU WANT IT MORE THAN THEY DO!!!!!!!ALL OF YOU SAID YOU WANTED IT ALL YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!NOW GO GET IT DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!RIP THEIR HEARTS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!YOU THINK THEY ARE GOING TO GIVE IT TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!NO WAY!!!! YOU GOTTA TAKE IT!!!!!!!!!TAKE IT DAMN IT!!!! TAKE IT BY ANY MEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!AHHH!!!!!!!!!!!LETS GO CELTICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, what would you say...
Ray still got game.

I dunno, but as long as I was dressed like MATT FOLEY, from the VAN...down by the RIVER, I think they'd listen and respond!

EDIT: I'd also read anything posted by Coach Mang. Sorry I don't have any more constructive thoughts--I'm not much of a motivational speaker.

i would stress how important this is. i would ask KG, ray, & paul how many times they have been this close in their long & succesful careers. i would get in the teams face, especially the big three, & say that if they truly wanna be considered the best & to be remembered in history & enshrined as celtic greats, that they must play the best games of their lives tonight.

we are THIS close to eternity. people dont remember teams who won 66 regular season games. people dont remember teams who went to the eastern conference finals. the only way you will be remembered is to win! TONIGHT! & move on to the next round where your greatest historical rival is waiting for you!

win tonite & leave NO DOUBT! earn a few days rest with a win tonite! a trip to the finals is waiting for you right now! GO GET IT!

or something along those lines.

1. If we win tonight, we go to the Finals a small underdog.
2. If we lose tonight, we may not go to the Finals at all, and even if we do we go a big underdog.
3. If we win tonight, you get a whole day off to rest up and chill out. You can spend as much time in bed Saturday night and Sunday morning as you like. ;)
