Being one of the best teams in the East wouldn't equal 6 straight trips to the East finals. They have went to the East finals 6 straight times because of the state of the Eastern Conference. They have not played a team in there 6 trips to the ECF in the first 2 rounds of the playoffs that would make the playoffs in the Western Conference.

So in other words, the teams that DIDN'T make the ECF the last six years are better than the Pistons. That's a contradiction, unless you truly believe "one of the best" means you don't make it to the ECF.
The WC has nothing to do with whether or not the Pistons are a top EC team.
I don't think you thought this through too well before you posted.

They being a top EC team has nothing to do with this conversation. The poster said that the Pistons had went to 6 straight ECF because they had played together. I said thats nice but the biggest reason why the Pistons have went to 6 straight ECF is because the East in general has been very weak and they never faced anyone that should have beat them in the first 2 rounds. There no question that the Pistons were one of the best teams in the East. The question is why were they one of the best teams in the East.
