Jermaine Oneil officially wants out of Indiana.

The question is really which team is gonna take him.
I think the Nets(putting the fact that Im a fan aside) are in a prime postition to take him because last year he said he wanted to play with either Vince or Kobe and Im pretty sure the Lakers wont be looking to add him so the Nets are really the only remaining team and they really have a bunch of rebuilding assets the Pacers could really use.

Come on now I dont think a team that consists of VC, Harris and JO (and hey maybe they'll be able to even keep RJ) is mediocre at all.

He's probably so upset at what happened with the Lakers thinking he couldve had the same impact as gasol and get to the NBA Finals, even though i'm not sure about that. The Lakers are better with Gasol imo.
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:
"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

He wouldn't JO is vastly overrated. Plus he gets hurt a lot and gives up too easily I have no problem dumping him he hasn't done much for us lately. I'm a Pacers fan(sad times these days) I know this.
Time to build this team around Granger for the forseeable future.

Well i really doubt anyone trades for J.O especially not the Nets if they're not completely convinced J.O can make a big impact and his knee is good enough . They'll first take a close look on J.O knees before anything happens not just gamble in the dark.
edit : Is it possible IF he opts out ( does he really need that 44 Million Dollars it's not like he'd get paid bad if he does ? ) to make a sign and trade on a smaller but longer contract ( lets say 60-70 million over 4-5 years or smt like that ) .
His current contract is WAY to big to get a reasonable trade with it so that would be the best option if he's serious about winning something.

If he's 100% certain about his health ( don't know if he really is ) it's a calculateable risk . He's only 29 and will make more then the 44 Million then his contract is still guaranteed.
Who in the world can trade for current contract it's sooo big you have to add things the Pacers don't want because of it's size . This would likely be the best solution for all parties.
Pacers get something for him but don't have to swallow bad contracts , J.O gets to play for a decent team and maybe a chance on winning and still get good money and gets relevant again , His new team doesn't have to swallow his big luxury tax eating current contract.

Jermaine O'Neal has always been overrated, in my opinion. I remember back in the early 2000's, when he was battling for MVP's and the announcers would constantly gush about him without mentioning his field goal %'s. He thought of himself as a scorer, but had he just worried about rebounding and defending, he'd have multiple DPOY awards by now.
EDIT: To respond to the topic, I say the Pacers move him. He's just taking up cap space and hindering the development of the young guys like Diogu (who I still think can become a good big) and Harrison (who needs to tone down the fouls). He doesn't fit well with the Pacers style of play.

The Nets don't want him! Yes, he's a big name but the reality is that he is a shell of what he was before his injuries. Every year he claims to be healthy and then injuries start up again. The Nets are heading in a great direction right now and they shouldn't take the risk of trading for an injury prone player. If we do trade for him, I doubt we keep RJ anyway.

If the Nets fielded VC, Harris, and JO, and lost RJ, they would not make the playoffs. That would be mediocre (technically bad).
With RJ, they still aren't a 2nd round team over Boston, Detroit, Cleveland, Orlando and possibly someone like Toronto or Philly (if they get someone good with their cap space) or Miami (if they trade the #2 for someone good).
