This thread reminds me of the old joke, "Call now, and let me show you how to turn your measly one million dollars into a freshly-cut check for ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!"
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Actually you have it reversed. It's more like turning a million dollars into five million dollars in the future. Of course that's provided you think that Rose or Beasley will turn out as well as many are projecting (which is much better than JJ).

JoshB914, the thread was JJ for Mayo.

Oh wow, I forgot to add him onto the list. The thing is Mayo is if you believe that Mayo can reach his ceiling, he will easily be better than JJ.

Personally I wouldn't take the risk. But there is definetely a legit justification for doing that deal.

Bah. This entire collegiate season has been filled with quotes of coaches/players/scouts all exclaiming how overrated Mayo is.

Only now, with the draft mania upon us, do we start to hear how wonderful he is again.

And Rose'd better develop a jump shot before you anoint him to the HOF.

Same for Beasley, he'd better be a real 6'9". And it wouldn't hurt for him to develop some kind of affection for the defensive side of the court.

Plus, if you consider JJ's age, it's not unreasonable to wonder if his ceiling is maybe a bit higher yet. If he turns into a 6'8" Ray Allen with better defense and ball-handling, he might be a HOFer, himself.

I'm not buying those projections.
