Dunleavy+oneal for kidd?

Post#1 » by kaskoosek » Sat May 31, 2008 3:19 pm

not a bad preposition, since the roster we currently have could never win a championship.

I am actually more reserved on oneal, cause he is injury prone and don't really like him.

but watcha guys think

Indiana would never do this. Dunleavy had a very good season and he is someone they want to keep around, JO is someone they are more than likely going to move. So they want something in return with a young player and maybe a little help with expiring contracts. His trade value has dropped more than Josh Howard's over the last few years because of his inability to stay healthy. So a better trade option would be...

Dallas Trades:
Josh Howard
Jerry Stackhouse
S&T of Eddie Jones (he has a player option so he would decline the option then sign and trade him in a one year deal which would be enough to complete the deal and Indiana could just buy him out)

Indiana Trades:
Jermaine O'neal

Dallas:
Kidd/Lue
Terry/Wright
Free Agent/George
Dirk/Bass
O'Neal/Damp

Indiana:
Tinsley/Diener
Dunleavy/Rush/Stackhouse
Howard/Granger/Williams
Diogu/Harrison
Murphy/Foster

This allows Indiana to run small if they want having Howard and Granger splitting the forward positions. Dallas also has the money to get a better SF since JO would fill the need at center so we wouldn't necessarily need Diop.

Any Howard for O'Neal trade would have to be a 3-way, as Indiana already has Granger/Dunleavy. As for the original deal, Kidd is untouchable in the eyes of our management.

I don't really want the injury-prone $44 million JO though.
