Thats fine, but I'm wondering, what about all the players who will pull out of the draft? Our draft is going to be before people pull out.

Either we could have an outside person not a part of the game decide who stays in and who pulls out, or just that we have to take a risk and make decisions on our own. (I think we did the second one last game)

I think for the next week there should be no vetoes allowed and no 24 hour time limit, since if there is a draft day deal, or deals very close to the draft; the 24 hour waiting period could screw a lot of things up

As long as the trade is legal, I think bryant, clyde, or zong should be able to have the power to approve it immediately to avoid confusion.

Yes, that makes a lot of sense, but this can only be done with deals pertaining to the draft and I just hope no unfair deals are made to screw things up.

I think the second choice is the only real option.

I agree, we should start this on friday and end it by the 1st round finishes.

A couple of ground rules for the draft here guys:

1. All deals can be accepted by either me, zong or clydestudent right away and if deals are that bad, we have the authority to stop deals from going through but it would have to take some massive outrage from some of you as well. This will be in place until after the draft is completed.
2. You are permitted to go over the roster limit for the draft, but once the 2nd round is complete you will have a week to get to 15 or under. If you choose not to cut anyone, the league office will do the cutting for you, most likely choosing your lowest paid players.
3. If you are unable to make your draft pick and do not submit a draft list or some type of pick to either myself or zong, we will pick for you from www.draftexpress.com.
4. KEEP ALL BANTER OUT OF THE DRAFT THREAD PLZ!!!

Guys we need a couple reminders that even I myself have overlooked:

1. When trading BYC players, the outgoing is halved and the incoming stays the same. But in this game, once a BYC player has been traded, it expires and he no longer carries a BYC with him. For example, in the Bell to Utah deal (which I approved so it's my fault), Bell has already been dealt before, so he would not carry a BYC with him.

2. Make your trades cleaner and more understandable when posting them. I think the classic simple approach works best, or anything to that effect:

Team A incoming/Team B outgoing:
Player A ($$$$$$$$)
Player B ($$$$$$$$)

Team B incoming/Team A outgoing:
Player A ($$$$$$$$)
Player B ($$$$$$$$)

3. Update your rosters as soon as your trades have been approved. Plz don't use "I have another deal that's just about to go through" as an excuse. Myself, zong, and clydestudent are no exception.

Keep on enjoying the draft, I think we've been extremely active and it's been great so far.

Does this mean that we will be eliminating expired contracts, letting teams decide whether they will be picking up team options, and having one of the commissioners decide which players are exercising player options or ETO's, this week?

^These matters will be discussed later, but keep your expirings/07-08 salaries for now. FA should begin within the next 3 weeks though.

that's fine, but then it's unfair that we should have cut players to make room for our draft picks; the draft picks shouldn't count as being on our teams until FA starts.

I really don't understand that, because you're going to have to cut players anyways. It's not like we're cutting you down extremely and you have an entire week after the draft concludes to get under 15.

Just cut your expirings then, if you're going to let them expire anyways. Unless they are significant players then just cut 'em.

Question: Are we getting someone to be the league office again and act as players agents and decides where each FA will sign?... also if we get that person, would we be able to negotiate contract buyouts with players on our roster?

^^^^ As far as I know there is no such thing as a contract buy out in this league we are playing with. We're either waiving the player or keeping them. There is no other way to get rid of one non-free agent player outside a trade.

Portland GM on vacation?

Hey guys, its been a blast playing in this competition with y'all, and unfortunately I have to take a break ;) and go on a real vacation. My flight is tomorrow at 5 AM and I prolly wont sleep tonight haha, so anyway, if you have offers for any of my players, dont feel offended if I dont reply because I probably wont have the tools/resources to reply although I am unfortunately still bringing my laptop. I'll be on occasionally and at awkward times since its a 12 hour difference between there and america.

Anyway, take prior warning that my email replies for your trade offers will be slowwww so keep your pants on

Cheers and good luck to everyone for the rest of the competition!
