Could The Lakers End Up Being The Team Of The Decade?

Post#1 » by Anklebreaker702 » Mon Jun 2, 2008 5:30 am

Although 4 wins from a title seems like an eternity when you're witing on it, the Lakers can make it a reality with those 4 wins. That would be the 4th title this decade. That would be more than any other team this decade including the Spurs. Their 1999 title goes towards last decade. So if the Lakers win the 2008 title and hopefully repeat in '09 that would give them 5 for the decade with Kobe & Fish being the center pieces for two different Championship teams. Most have hands down given that title to the Spurs but with the Lakers sudden re-emergence it might need some rethinking. Chime in & give your thoughts

Well that'd be wonderful. But lets not jinx it ok? The Celtics are tough enough.

I think it depends how you look at it.

Do you mean the last decade(10 years) or the 2000-2010 decade?

If its the first one, the Spurs are still the team of the decade. If its the second one, I dont think it can be judged until the decade is over.

Depends on your perspective.

Also, the Lakers 2000 championship would not count. It was won on June 19,2000. According to Wikipedia, the first day of the decade is Jan 1, 2001. The last day is Dec 31, 2010.

Definately not counting the chickens before they hatch. Boston will be a handful & next year is a long way away, just came up with a question to get us through until Thursday

to shed the "all lakers fans are homers, especially at realgm lakers forum" stigma.
