Who is Bill Walton rooting for?

Post#1 » by CelticsWhat! » Mon Jun 2, 2008 1:53 pm

This is partially just for fun, and the man is most likely rooting for his son to win. In any other situation, the question wouldn't even come up. But Bill Walton isn't any other person. He's not normal. This is the guy that once said the birth of his children took a back seat to receiving a perfect pass from Larry Bird. So I ask you this. Who is Bill going to be rooting for deep down when the Finals start?

My guess is the Laker's. Luke hasn't won a championship yet so I'm sure he wants his son to get one. Don't get me wrong, Bill bleeds green but we're talking about his blood here.

He wants the Lakers to win but I guarantee you he won't be broken up about it if the Celts win.

The Lakers.

I was in touch with Bill on another matter two or three weeks ago and he described himself as "the proudest Dad in the world."

Were it any other team but the Lakers, he would be second only to Tommy in enthusiasm for the Cs.

He has to be pulling for the Lakers, but glad Boston is back in the finals.
