Lakers Admins

Post#1 » by DubaLakers » Mon Jun 2, 2008 7:33 pm

I really enjoy this Real GM board. There are a bunch of good fans and talented admins. The admin to fan ratio has gotta be the highest of the NBA boards. How many Laker admins are there? Which isn't terrible, all seem qualified, but I think that leads to more than usual locked posts and action when it's not always called for.

So many topics are locked and the sensitivity seems to be on high alert. There was a topic this week that was locked on who is the cover athlete for an upcoming game, a players silouette was shown on the games cover, an admin struck it down as spam. I thought it was a bit intriguing, but locked.

Then we have any Boston fans making a post on the Lakers board struck down as trolls. And numerous Laker members calling for a shut down. That post today I get it, but others are fine, yet struck down. I want a healthy debate if it gets ugly sure, I just think there is too much sensitivity beyond the rules listed on the site. I have no problem with opposing fans contributing to the Lakers board, as long as it isn't done in hate or to throw a granade and run.

I'm on the Boston board backing our team and defending our Laker team and throwing out my take, with respect to their board members. They are really pumped for this series. We don't seem to be talking about it as much to be honest. They allow for the back and forth debate, with respect to the opposing fan base.

There are a nice group of Laker members on the Celtics board doing the same a nice healthy debate. It's fun and really is getting us all pumped for this series.

EE, Phil, Trixx (Your BOS/LAL post was incredible), Miles, and the other admins you guys are great fans and you know your bball. I felt it needed to be said it was getting to be a bit much IMO. Respect.

LOCK. ( was that what you are talking about? )

First off, If you have an issue with a thread that was locked then please feel free to PM anyone of us.

We dont need your " opinions on how to run this board". We would be happy to listen to any poster who has an issue with a thread that was locked.

Now, to your other point. Anyone here is welcome to post and there are plenty of posters that are here and exhibit maturity and good debates. However, the trolls wont be tolerated on either side. The Celtics run their board the way the see fit and there are plenty of Laker members over there who are not crossing the line. And there are some that do. Same as here.

What we dont do, is leave open threads and/or allow posters to troll just so you guys can " reply" back to them.

Other than that.. I dont see any issues.

PM us if there are posters who do.
Cheers. — Mags

The Lakers Board Rules up top explain all of this in great detail.

No inflammatory posting is welcome here. There are plenty of unibrow forums out there for that type of stuff. We dearly welcome differences in opinion, but childish pissing matches will be shut down immediately.

By cracking down hard on trolling and inflammatory comments, we hope this board might attract level-headed and knowledgeable adult posters in the long term. Sorry if our policy is too tough, but we find this being effective in raising the posting quality of our board.
