Great Post...

My Humble predictions:

Game 1 - Loss
Game 2 - Win  (With your's truly in attendance...Got me some tix)
Game 3 - Win
Game 4 - Win
Game 5 - It's over baby :o

LAKESHOW IN 5

BTW anyone else gonna be at Game 2 in Boston? I tried to find out the hotel the Lakers and press would be at, but as pointed out by you guys, it is impossible...So I took Magicfan's advise and booked up at The Liberty.
What do you think...I sold em' all?

You still don't get how much of a challenge we're going to be for you. We are not the senile Spurs on defense.

You couldn't beat Atlanta on their homecourt bud!!! Easy on the Spurs comparisons.

Right, because Celtic fans are not claiming to beat our "soft team". You guys are as cocky ( if not more) as we are. And I would say, you dont get how much of a challenge we will be for you, too.

We know what happened the last team you played an athletic team that could run the break. Lets just imagine a team 5 X better on the fastbreaks and equally efficient in half court sets and think about the trouble you might be facing.

I've been thinking about what Phil might do match-up wise defensively for a little bit. I think it's pretty obvious what we'll do. For the back-court, we'll have Fish on Rondo and Kobe on Allen. Phil won't put Fish on Allen, with there being a chance that Allen goes. Kobe normally plays well on shooters who move without the ball like a Rip Hamilton, he'll struggle against guys like Bowen, because he likes to roam. Kobe will stick on Allen this whole series. Fish we'll play the roll of roaming and he has done it well before. We'll make Rondo a shooter, you see his FG % drop, teams are making him more and more of a shooter, and it is affecting his play.

For the front-court, we'll guard Gasol with Garnett and put Odom on Perkins. Garnett, from what we've seen so far in these playoffs, is taking more perimeter shots then going down on the low block. The Celtics like to run pick and rolls with KG, Pau has shown he can guard the pick and rolls and this we'll make sure that Pau stays out of foul trouble. While the LO-Perkins match-up isn't something I like, Perkins is a big with really nothing to go with it, at least offensively. They won't feature him, so I don't think Lamar should be in foul trouble. Plus this will let him roam a bit. The biggest reason I want to him there against Perkins is to avoid Perkins from dominating on the glass. Lamar is our best rebounder, we need him in the middle leading the break, coast to coast, this is essential.

Now for our worse match-up, I do expect Pierce to get a healthy dose of Radman, Walton, Kobe and possibly Ariza. What I expect from us is to double down hard on Pierce with Fish and maybe Lamar, usually when we have Rad or Luke guarding him. We'll play KG one on one, because with him shooting jumpers, he just want be as big of a force. I would have to think that this will be to some extent Phil's game-plan on defense. What do you think of the possible defensive match-ups Phil can come up with.

Ariza must start in place of Radman or Pierce will score 40 per game.

Odom on Pierce, Ariza on KG, please. Pau's length, medium range jumpers and mini hooks will bother Perkins by taking him out of his defensive comfort zone. KG will have to cheat off LO to help on cutters, thus LO should get his share of easy looks over seven games.

A couple things, I've never liked the idea of changing a lineup in the middle of the post-season because for one rotations and chemistry won't be as good and if this part of the season, you're making changes to your starting five, it seems more of a desperation move then anything else. Plus, we all know Phil, he isn't changing the starting five, but that's not to say that he won't hold Radman on a short leash if Pierce starts scoring.

Plus, I really don't like the court spacing when we have a line-up of Fish-Bryant-Ariza-Odom-Gasol. We have one shooter out there and Phil normally like to have two shooters out there to keep the defense honest. Also, I think to some extent KG playing mostly on the outside is more of a mindset thing. If he sees Trevor out there getting ready to guard, he'll see this 6-8 frail kid trying to guard, he might just start attacking the paint, which is not what we want.
