If this doesn't make your blood boil...

Post#1 » by Big Baby » Tue Jun 3, 2008 5:29 am

I want every Celtic to read this because if this doesn't fire you up, I don't know what will.

Lakers-Celtics: A rivalry so big it should be on Versus
Matchups within the big matchup make this NBA Finals one not to miss.

http://www.latimes.com/sports/basketball/nba/lakers/la-sp-plaschke1-2008jun01,0,6664172.column

It's another blowhard crap from Bill Simmons, err, I mean, Bill Plaschke of the LA Times. This is what our enemies are saying.

Joker vs. joker

The Lakers have a human mascot known for his smile and his sunglasses.

The Celtics have a human mascot known for his hoodie and his half-baked excuses for spying on his enemies.

During the fourth quarter of every home game, the Laker fans will give a standing ovation to Jack Nicholson.

During games in Boston, the Celtics fans will give similar ovations to New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick, who may or may not be talking into his shoe.

At least Boston has a football team.

The Laker Girls

vs. the Celtic Dancers

While the Lakers were the first team to extensively use in-game dancers, the Celtics were the last.

The difference can be found in the pages of an on-line diary written by a current Celtic Dancer named Michelle.

"With the Celtics exceeding 60 wins, I got to thinking: As a Celtic Dancer, what I have done 60 times this year?" she wrote.

Her first answer?

"Fake tanned."

This one stings. I really wish Wyc & Co. would scrap this nonsense. But here comes the real red meat of this douchebag's column.

Phil vs. Red

It is sad that the late Celtics coaching icon Red Auerbach will not be here to see his Celtics defend the honor of his nine championships.

If the Lakers' Phil Jackson wins his 10th title, breaking a record he shares with Red, here's hoping he'll smoke a championship cigar as a tribute.

:curse:

There's more.

Staples Tradition

vs. Garden Tradition

Parquet, smarquet, that thing in Boston is still just a floor.

Chant vs. Chant

In the early days of this championship rivalry, the Celtics fans invented the "Beat L.A." chant.

The Lakers will respond this week with a simple, "M-V-P, M-V-P."

The Boston chant is wish.

The Lakers chant is a reality.

I propose a new chant when the Flakers come to town:

RAPIST! RAPIST! RAPIST!

The streets of L.A. vs. Paul Pierce

When the Celtics' Pierce returns to his Los Angeles home, here's hoping he leaves his street gestures in his expensive suitcase.

Despite all the anti-gang work done by Pierce's charities, none of it received more publicity than the alleged gang sign he flashed at the Atlanta Hawks earlier in the playoffs.

After the Celtics lose in five games, a simple goodbye wave will do.

In your dreams, ass-hole. In your dreams.

Plaschke sucks more than a black hole on top of Calvin Booth's talent and will continue to inexplicably win major journalism awards and sell millions of copies of horrible books. It's just a fact of life so get used to it and start praying for early retirement for the Plaschman.

Getting worked up over anything Bill Plaschke says is so 2003. Even if he's making a good point, he masks it with just unbelievably bad jokes, like the one about Belichick. What a hack.

wasnt it established that the "Menacing Gesture" Was just a boston thing?

Pierce was throwing the pyru-blood gang sign for those who don't know what it looks like.

Pierce was holding up 3 fingers meaning the Hawks had to win 3 more games and we didn't.

You know just because a gang does it, does not limit its use for other things. To me it looked like a B. Why would Pierce be tossing up gang signs? It makes no sense.

Oh c'mon, this gets your blood boiling? It's not a national media outlet, just the local LA paper. It's a lame poor-humored attempt to get the local fans/readership going. Just some local schmaltz, is all. There have been pieces like that in the Globe before It's actually a shame they're not doing it in our local papers this time around - would make things so much more fun. Platchke has no more knowledge of the NBA than your average fan. His job, at this point of his career, is just to try and be amusing. To some low-level readers this might constitute a rallying cry of some sort. That's all.

Well when you live in LA and all you got around you is haves,(movie stars) and have nots(gang members), you really don't know any different. Exscuse them for being ignorant.

The only way this would make my blood boil is if I was a paid subscriber to that rag. Poorly written and embarrassingly unfunny.

"People in Boston can't get tans in the Winter!" Wow, that's some real witty **** there, Plaschke. Lemme fire a "How about that traffic in LA??" liner back at you and we'll see who gets more crickets.

This is the person ESPN thinks enough of to be on their tv shows? Hopefully none of the Boston writers stoop to this level of pathetic journalism.

And then these idiots why we revert to blogs more and more often..

Plaschke, aka Mr. Lisp, is a chode. He sucks on ESPN, and though I'd never read his columns until just now, this doesn't surprise me.

Hey Lispy, stay in the stinking hellhole that is LA and leave Boston alone, ****. The movie "Escape from LA" was supposed to be about post-apocolyptic LA in the future, but it's easily applicable right now!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Plaschke sucks. I hate writers who think they are funny. Just do your job, do not try and be a stand up comic.

LoL at you and the other person thinking it was 3 games. That's a Boston sign that mostly stands for inner city peace. Moreso Pierce showing maturity putting it up in that situation rather then a middle finger. Even our politicians try to ride that statements wave for votes as a leader in the inner city.

See Our Mayor.[he will be the fat white guy]

Or even Tommy Heinshon. Do you think Tommy Heinshon is apart of the pyru-blood gang?

Um, yeah - that's why the league fined him - for fostering peace.

Pierce throws that sign around during introductions literally every game (I think it means blood, sweat and tears).

David Stern, being the paranoid man he is, made a PR move and fined him to put the controversy to rest. Not sure why this should surprise anyone.

It's the Piru "Bloods" sign and Pierce has been throwing it up since he was in elementary school. The dice rolling motion that he does during the intros is also a "Bloods" thing.
