Sheed

Post#1 » by spree2kawhi » Tue Jun 3, 2008 6:59 am

I know there are more interesting things to think about at the moment, but as it seems sheed is out of favor in detroit. he'd be a great addition to the lakers, what do you think?

We'll take him if he wants to come off the bench.

Sheed is a perfect fir for the triangle. Not as good as Pau, but he would of excelled in Phil's system. I see no possible way this happens now though. We're not going to give up anything valuable for him as our pf and center positions are pretty solid once Bynum gets back.

I don't think even then he's worth the chance. The risk out weighs the reward in this case. Even though Phil has worked with the likes of Rodman and JR Rider I'm not sure he'd want that sort of personality on our team. Neither would I quite frankly, off the bench and for the vet minimum even. No way!

Team chemistry might be the main reason for this particular Laker team's success. There's something special there.

to say you wouldn't take the chance if he wanted to come off the bench and for the vet min is insane. Sheed has many ways to contribute still and you're just overblowing his persona given by the media.

i think this would be horrible. there is no way sheed will come off the bench. his skill set is good enough to help any team, but there is no way he will come off the bench

pass, we don't really need him, and it would probably take a lot to get him
and other teams could give him a larger role

I've been watching Sheed since he was a Bullet!

Trust me, that persona wasn't given to him, he earned it.

I severely disagree with people not wanting him for chemistry issues. Have you ever heard a lot about Sheed being a bad teammate? I haven't. As a matter of fact Scottie Pippen said Sheed was one of the best teammates he's ever played with when he was in Portland.

Don't let the on court antics confuse you with locker room problems. If he wanted to come, and didn't have a problem starting off the bench I'd be estatic about adding him to our roster.

Having never been much of a fan, I wasn't really liking the idea until I read this. Still wouldn't bend over backwards to pick him up, but this is a pretty salient point -- you never hear about him squabbling with teammates or causing problems in the locker room. He can be a huge distraction with his on-court antics, but after handling Dennis Rodman I'm sure Sheed would seem like David Robinson to Phil.

The thing is, even in a reserve role, how good is he any more? And provided Bynum comes back healthy and stays healthy -- no guarantee, I know -- but how much do we really need a 6-10 3-point shooter whose defense and rebounding have declined noticably? Especially at $13.5 million for the next season. Yeah, it would be nice when that contract comes off the book, but we'll be so far over the cap it wouldn't even matter.

For the price tag alone, I don't see this happening.

Sheed off the bench? That'd be amazing.

Imagine a 2nd unit with Sheed/Ronny/Luke/Sasha/Farmar! Our rotation would be insane with that kind of an addition.

Just say no to Sheed...

a wierdo, a technical foul machine, a disrupter (usuallyhis own team as opposed to the competition).

we have a good group here, why spoil it?

And he plays Pf which is what Pau will be at..

Sheesh....

Sheed would be a pretty good fit on this team...

But I wouldn't want Sheed if he couldn't control himself emotionally (i.e. gettin' techs all the time, drawing attention in the media, etc).

I take him as a starter or off the bench.
His a bad boy with a lot of talent and I think with him on the roster and with Bynum and Ariza coming back, I cant see anyone beating us.

for the vet min and off the bench, i'd take that chance (assuming he's a free agent).

starting:Pau/Odom
bench:Bynum/Sheed or Turiaf/Sheed for small ball.
