Sixers Posters Mock Draft

Post#1 » by CinciSixersFan » Tue Jun 3, 2008 1:05 pm

Last year we did a mock draft amongst the posters on here. Everyone took a team (I think a couple of us took two) and we made selections and traded picks, etc. It was a lot of fun. Is there any interest in doing it again? If so, who wants to organize it? I don't recall who did it last year, but it was fairly well run.

I'm obviously interested and would be more than glad to help out.

Sure...set up the slots early...I'm out of town for work two of the next 4 weeks and probably won't be able to check in.

I just went back and looked at the post from last year, it looks like The Guilty Party set this thing up. TGP (or anyone else) any interest in doing it again? I would run it, but I'm going to be out of town from 6/17-6/22

It looks like once we had 15 people last year we did two picks each day. Each participant controlled two teams. I say once we have 15 people who want to do it we get this going. But obviously the last day we could start to keep with this format would be 6/11.

Remember this will be a Fantasy Trade Mock, so teams can trade their picks while utilizing the trade checker.

Alright gents,

If TGP is checked-out for now, I'm happy to organize this... Out of superstition, we burdened him with the game-threads while he was outta town.... and then ultimately it was his avatar, followed by his choice of wardrobe, and then finally his alcoholic consumption. So, if TGP needs a little rest, I'm game.

If he doesn't respond to this thread by tomorrow at this time, I will start organizing in the interest of time....Meanwhile, how do you propose drawing cyber straws? If there no objection, I will do the lottery with paper-entries of all the names. If 30 guys jump in, and we could do a whole first round, clean.

I've actually got a window of time 'cause I just finished another yr of law school yesterday (hence the interest in Sammy D the Speed Racer) and work doesn't start for a couple days. Let's do this! I am keeping a tally of all the entrants thus far... Just type: "I'm in," if you want to play. This'll be the first draft where I don't want the first pick!

I'm in.... should we do it the same way we ran it last year??? Each poster gets 2 teams (unless we have enough participation) and there will be a pick due by 3PM and one by 3AM each day.

Do you want me to run it again?? If so... we should get on this ASAP since we will need 15 days to complete this thing.

FireBK is all over this.... so by all means, I'm all for him running it this year.

Lessons learned last year.... Don't assign a team to someone if you have the slightest bit of concern over whether or not they will actually show up and participate. I recall that I had to re-assign 4 or 5 teams last year because of no-shows and that became a pain in the ass especially as we got into the 20's when interest in the thread was really dropping off.

Just saw this.... Yes, TGP you are the incumbent commish. And if it ain't broke, don't fix it... So if you have the mojo to run this thing, it sounds like you would do the better job because you've done it before.... It's entirely up to you... I only volunteered in case you were away. I'm happy to help either way.

I also agree we should start ASAP.... Meanwhile, we currently have 12 entrants. And dealing 2 teams each to 15 guys sounds ideal to me

Ok, boys,

Here's the lineup of realGMs in order of entry thus far:

1. CinciSixersFan
2. Sandalf 42
3. PhilasFinest
4. Sec 106
5. freshie2
6. Fire BK (aka. Noah)
7. dbodner
8. awhi_quacoe
9. Corwin
10. TGP
11. tk76
12. SouthJersey
13. Wildfire

Proposal: how 'bout we just run it together, TGP? Tag-team organizing. You can be David Stern, and I'll be Adam Silver, the deputy commish (I always liked Rod Thorn way better than this guy, but I digress).

Anyways, we just need a few more names today to reach 15, and then it's gonna be sealed off... So get your hats in the ring, boys.... JB-S? dond? Sixerscan? Skates? Bebopdeluxe? Knux? 93 Phillies?

Edit: Ok guys, that makes room for two more before our magic number closes.... Where are the real draft junkies at?
