Quick summary: Committed to resigning the Joshes. Still getting familiar with everyone. Feels it is a good year to not have a pick/pay off the Joe Johnson deal. Seemed non-committal to David Andersen. No questions about the coaching staff.
Nothing too deep as it is a hawks.com puff piece, but I was a little concerned about David Andersen comments. Maybe I'm reading too much into it.

was just talking about that inerview. What he said about coaches can give one the assumption that Woody is gone.see below
Hawks.com: Fairly or not, former GM Billy Knight was often characterized in the media as wanted to build a squad of multidimensional 6-8 players. Is there a particular style of ball or talent you prefer?
RS: I don

He actually does sort of address the coaching. This part gives me hope that he will not retain woodson.

Is there a rush to bring Anderson over THIS year in particular? This seems like awful timing because both Joshes are free agents. I think it would make sense to bring him over next year after Zaza and Bibby's contract expire(particularly Zaza because those 2 would be fighting for minutes) so we won't be paying the tax.

Actually 4M per season could probably do it for Andersen. Let's be honest, he is getting up there in age so each year we wait reduces the odds of it ever happening. I still see him as a multiple year player for us. I want to get him here now, get him acclimated, and use Zaza's expiring contract in trade if we can find a piece that fits better. We need to get him in and used to the NBA so he can have time to gel and we get the benefit of his prime.
I also don't get the comparisons to Zaza. From watching Andersen play in the Euroleague Final 4, he is a big who can score on the block, the baseline, or with a deadly mid-range jumper. Zaza has never shown me that level of play in the 3 years he's been here. Do you feel good about having Zaza as the go to offensive threat with the second unit? I don't. David Andersen was able to be a go to guy at crunch time in the highest levels of Euroleague. I'm not saying he comes in here and is a NBA superstar, but I see him as being able to really strengthen our bench and give us some offensive consistency with that unit that will allow more rest for Joe Johnson (remember all the times that Joe had to come back in quickly because no one on the floor could create a shot).

The $4 M figure was just based on Zaza's salary. I've no idea of Andersen's actual demands other than it has to be less than the MLE and that BK had only offered him a minimum contract (500K) in the past which was ludicrous. He has 2 options coming in a deal that signs him relatively cheap but gives him freedom to negotiate a new deal quicker (like Juan Carlos Navarro did) or use a sizeable chunk of the MLE and give him a 3 year deal (MLE rules for signing).

I don't really want him anyway.I don't get all the hype with him.
Because you didn't see him play. He is the best bigman in Europe, no questions about it. He would be an excellent fit for the Hawks. You could put him easily in the starting 5, or he could bring the points from the bench. He is better than Zaza any time. He has competed on the highest level in Europe, he can score from everywhere, in the paint, from the baseline or from 20 feet. He has the talent and the experience to make his name in the NBA.

David Andersen is WIDELY considered the most skilled big man in Europe, and has proven that two years in a row. He will be no less than a solid role player in the NBA, which is exactly what a less talented player like Jorge Garbajosa was before his injury.
