I'm sure teams make moves illegally in many cases, but I don't think negotiating with a player that's not on their own roster during the negotiating blackout is one of those things a team wants. Is Nenad Krstic worth giving up 3-5 1st round picks in the future to you? I don't think so.

Also, if they draft the player, there is no salary assigned to his draft rights until he signs with the team that drafted him, and then at that point, he cannot be traded for 30 days or more due to signing restrictions.

Man! Your bumming me out. LOL. Your just too knowledgable. J/K. But seriously thanks I didn't know all that.

No prob man. I didn't know any of these really until after I joined this site. The Larry Coon FAQ and the CBA Board here are a wealth of knowledge if you're looking to learn about the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Eh, it's not a horrible offer. It at least offers us a true rebuilding type move, without having to force us to take on Larry Hughes. It's not a great offer though.

It's solid. Depends on what you think of Jack and Frye. Maybe we could package #11 and #13 and get in the Top 5?

Frye's useless, but he's expiring, and I like Jack...extra picks this year and next...not too bad. I agree with Scoot in that it's a true rebuilding offer.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

They probably wouldn't like it, but it may not matter as Rudy might not ever come over now that he's a superstar in Europe, and would be locked into a rookie contract here in America.

I'd be much more apt to doing this deal, and I'm sure Larry Bird would be too, if Rudy Fernandez were in the deal for Indy as well. That would definitely be the icing on the cake for Indy.

The Blazers FO won't trade Fernandez cuz he's one of the new Regime's top guys that they drafted...just like Blake won't be moved.

Jarrett Jack and Webster are likely guys that they would move as they are guys that the current FO didn't draft.

Ehhh...I dont think they would be opposed to moving Steve Blake. Just beause they signed him doesnt mean he is untouchable.
