NBA Cases

Post#1 » by DannyGranger » Wed Jun 4, 2008 12:44 am

I wanted to know if anyone knows of any interesting cases within the NBA. Its for my sportlaw class. We can basically write up about any case that occurred in sports. I was thinking of Ron Artest v Pistons fans. Anyone have any other ideas (webs links would be great).

For an older one, look up the Case of Connie Hawkins (A player in the 60s who was banned from the NBA) and the NBA

Here is a quick summary from his NBA profile page

Chauncey Billups, Ron Mercer, and Michael Irvin (no relation to the former Dallas Cowboy) gangrape a woman. Antoine Walker walks in and they say, "You want some of this?" Antoine Walker says "No thanks" and leaves.

I don't think these Superstar athletes with all the money would "Rape" a women! Especially one that turns out to be a drug user who is looking for some nice paycheck!

it's not about the money aspect..

I know dudes that are like that, they just get a certain mean streak when they're with a certain type of woman..once you reach a certain point where the girl is in the bedroom, or any sexual activity begins(brains, touching, clothes come off), the rape doesn't come as a surprise..regardless of the rapist's success in life..

also, athletes obviously realize that they have enough $ to make these situations "disappear" if the victim were to pop up again..they also realize that nowadays, they're going to get the benefit of the doubt from most people with so many gold digging situations in the past..

This is a very sensitive topic, but that was really funny...
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."
