Chris wilcox trade

Dream on! There is no way Seattle even considers this deal. Wilcox has more production and as you pointed out his contract is expiring. He is a low post back to the basket scorer which is hard to find. He is prefect for Seattle and their second scoring option. While still young, with a few more minutes he may become a 20/10 player. He is a leader on the team and a high character guy with a good work ethic.

Williams would offer a down grade over Wilcox with his 5 ppg average. He isn't tall enough to play center and is light for PF. Sean Williams plays the position that is deepest on the Sonic roster. The Sonics obviously worked hard to get the first round picks and would never throw them away on a deal like this. They can get a dozen guys like Williams in the second round of the draft. With what you are asking they could land Beasley. Plus, Williams had questions coming out of college about his character and work ethic. After a year in New Jersey he is probably well on his way to a lifetime addiction.

If you read my post earlier I obviously said this would never happen that a deal would fall into my laps like this. My next post was just talking about our possibilities if it happened. A Sonics fan was the one that posted it idea. Take him out back and slap some sense into him.

If you look at the Seattle board, they have a thread that says Chris Wilcox just got arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. I wonder what that does to his trade value.

Honestly, for the dancing this board has done for this guy over the last two-three years, I really don't want him anymore.

Honestly at this point, the issue with Wilcox is that it isn't the type of direction they should go in anymore. A year ago, with Kidd, another trip to the 2nd round and before Garnett went to Boston, adding Wilcox looked like he could have been the missing piece towards becoming a top 3 team in the East.

Now, with Kidd gone and a well deserved trip to the lottery, sacrificing any future chips for a 3rd tier big is just not the direction they should be going in.

My thought process was always, if they basically want our garbage and a late pick, I'd be all for it. I'm not giving up anyone of value for him. Stro/KVH/2010 1st for Wilcox/2nd Rounder. People would probably hate that trade. I would do it as a last resort basically. I'm not giving up Stro unless it's the only deal we can make. Stro's contract is too valuable to us as of today in terms of tossing him in to match contracts (plus people still think he has an upside). Until that point that we think we can't do better, I'm not touching Wilcox.

i wouldn't give up a first for someone who isnt among the top 10 at his position

I do not think if someone had a Top ten at one postion they would give them up for a #10

earl Watson and Nick Collison for Van Horn, Swift, Williams and #10

I'd pass on Wilcox

The point of bringing him here, was to play with Kidd who would be giving him easy buckets. Kidd is gone, and Wilcox isnt exactly a legit low post scorer.

Wilcox not a low post scorer?? He has a career 53% FG shooting % and I think he has taken maybe two three point attempts! so how could Wilcox not be a low post scorer?

Wilcox is as much a Low-Post scorer as K-Mart was but much worse on the defensive end . He's not making us good enough to give up much for him with his legal trouble.
