LeBron made the most money in the NBA this season...

Post#1 » by B Mac » Wed Jun 4, 2008 5:10 am

Tiger Woods has made almost $128 million in prize money and endorsements in the past year, more than twice as much as any other U.S. professional athlete, according to Sports Illustrated. Fellow golfer Phil Mickelson is second at $62.4 million. James is third, making almost $40.5 million in the past year, including $28 million from endorsement deals. He is one of 26 National Basketball Association players in the "Fortunate 50," the most of any sport.

Some of the others in the top 10:

4. Boxer Floyd Mayweather, $40.3 million.
5. Los Angeles Lakers player Kobe Bryant, $35.5 million.
6. Phoenix Suns player Shaquille O'Neal, $35 million.
7. New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, $35 million.
8. Boston Celtics player Kevin Garnett, $31 million.
9. Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, $30.5 million.
10. Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, $30 million.
11. NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., $27.2 million.

It sure is too bad that LeBron isnt in a big market getting stacks of cash... Also funny how the league's MVP who is in the biggest NBA market is also behind LeBron.

He's just gotta get to New York.... He could get a lot of endorsement money playing in "The Mecca" of basketball...

Yea, we all know that tatoo Lebron has 330, that don't stand for his hometown area code. It's a secret # in a code that stands for New York, or Jersey!

But he doesn't talk to Jay-Z every day? And he hasn't voiced frustration with the players that have been put around him in Cleveland?

I was slightly suprise to see Lebron's rank, considering how much higher Shaq & Kobe's salaries are, but he is further establishing himself as the face of the league. It pays to be on Nike's payroll (and correct me if I'm wrong but Lebron's paycheck for Nike gets a nice increase if he is in NY, LA or Chicago).
