Pre Draft: Who Do You Think Will Be the Worst Team Next Year

I think the Indiana Pacers will be the worst team

They have no point guard.. Tinsley is oft-injured. Daniels is garbage outside his defense. Dunleavy and Granger are good but play the same position (but they cannot be your best player if you want to win games). JON is done. The one kid worth anything is Williams who i think could break out.

other dark horses:
Sacremento- They only have Martin/Artest- I think Artest will be moved mid-season. Martin can't win games on their own.. They'll likely move Brad Miller as well

Memphis Grizzlies- Got worse then last year with losing Gasol. Now your best players are Gay/Miller (who will be traded)/conley
the front court unless darko shows promise is a joke.

New York Knicks. They are just not very good, i could totally see them starting off slow next year and then trading randolph/curry to other teams and rebuilding completely

Teams i see improving

Seattle- I see them getting better next year, i think Durant can push them into 10-13 range
Timberwolves- Putting Mayo/Foye/ around Jefferson and other defensive studs like gomes/brewer/smith they could have something there
Heat-They wont be number one, not even close with healthy wade.

If i were a team like the pacers/kings i'd try to really rebuild hard and get rid of aging players for draft selections and then build around a rubio/derozan/griffin in the future.

Don't jinx the heat.

Please add the heat to your poll in an effort to reverse jinx them

they have wade/beasley/marion, i refuse to put them on the list..

looking at those teams the better question is which one needs a point guard like rubio
seattle would until they get bayless
minnesota doesnt mayo/foye
knicks would LOVE Rubio, and so would d'antoni (i am calling it now that they trade for Rubio this upcoming year.
Grizzlies- Would Take Derozan to put with Gay or Griffin inside at the 4
Pacers- definitely need a point guard, might take augustine/westbrook this year
Kings- I think they would take him, and i think will take a 4 this year like Arthur.
Rubio is going to be stockton-like in my opinion, never flashy but always effective.

Sacramento Kings? They are far from being the worst team in the NBA. They faced devastated injuries from their players. Such as Kevin Martin (20 games) Artest, Bibby (Half the year), Sar (All year), Miller. But they manage to get 38 win in the hectic West.

If they were healthy ALL year, they would have been the 7/8 seed easily.

And about your description about the Kings. They only have Artest/Martin? You seem very informative about the team I watch constantly. *sarcasm* And the rest are assumptions and opinion. But clearly that Artest has said that he will NOT opt out. And Miller, the Kings has shown NO indication about moving him. Besides, he is arguably the important player in our offense. We run the offense THROUGH him.

But you are right though, the Kings should rebuild but not TOTAL rebuild phase. We are not crazy to make things happens just for the heck of it. We are a patient franchise that can wait for the time is right ...i.e an unbelievable trade, FA, an etc...We have a plan that we are going to be players of the 2009/10 FA, looking at our players/contracts they expire around 2010. So, we can wait for another year or so.

Please put the Heat on the poll. Until then I can't have any respect for this thread. If a team that managed to get the lowest win total last season can't be considered for that accomplishment again this poll shouldn't exist.

I'm gonna pick a darkhorse and say...the Nets.

Probably Memphis though.

Interesting assessment. Without JO and Tinsley this past year, the Pacers were 36-46 this year, and the 11th worst team. However, without them next year and with the 11th pick added, you think they will be the absolute worst team in the league?

Your assessment of Granger seems a little odd. He's the keeper, and Shawne Williams is still a long-term prospect that isn't going to help the team tremendously for a few years. Dunleavy and Granger is a 40 pt per night swing rotation that plays pretty well.

I don't think Indy is making the playoffs next year necessarily, but I don't think they're the worst team in the league.

I'd have to say Memphis is starting to run away with this, and it will simply depend on who they pick in this draft.

I agree that they shouldn't be on the list, but cmon...easily? Golden State didn't make the playoffs....and the kings could have done it easily?

Whoa, nevermind then. I forgot the 8th seed in the Western Conference has the win total of 50 wins...

So, I have mis-spoken then...lol.. They would be at Warriors-level though. Like 45-48ish wins if they were healthy...

One thing is 100% sure in my eyes Memphis will be really really bad next year they just can't be a good team next season .

For most of the other teams there's at least somekind of hope to be better next year but Memphis ? I just don't see it.

I think Pacers will be the worst team next year. They will probably reach for a PG in the draft and trade Jermaine at the deadline.

I dont see why you guys say Memphis.

If Rudy Who steps up his game a notch and they keep Miller (I hope they dont) and draft Brook Lopez, I dont think they will be worst than the Pacers.
