This was the original 3-way someone suggested:

LAC gets: Baron
GSW gets: Wally Szczerbiak, Joe Smith, #7, #19
CLE gets: Cuttino Mobley, Corey Maggette

A Cleveland fan shot that idea down somewhere...

but personally, I wouldn't mind taking Mobley, Maggette, and #7 for Baron, with LA getting Wally, Smith, and 19.. but I can't see the Clips doing it...

Personally, I'd prefer sending Baron east no matter what we do ;)

This idea was shot-down because it doesn't make sense for the Cavaliers.
We give-up an expiring contract, a serviceable BIG, who plays well, AND a 1st round pick for one good player, and one player that used to be good, but now just has a bad contract & is OLD!

I'm sure the Clippers would do this deal in a second... (if they keep #19), but they'd prolly still do it if they didn't keep #19!

Cavs lose BIG time in this deal...no-thanks!

Here is a more realistic trade (that all 3 teams can live with)

Cavaliers Get:

Baron Davis from GS
Kosta Perovic from GS
Elton Brand from Clippers
Cuttino Mobley From Clippers
2008 2nd round pick from Clippers
2008 2nd round pick from Golden State

Golden State gets:

Daniel Gibson (S&T -separate deal)
Wally Szczerbiak (expiring)
Anderson Varejao (expiring -PO)
2010 1st round pick (From Cavs - no protection)
2009 2nd round pick (from Cavs by way of Chicago)
3 million cash From Cavs

Clippers get:

Sasha Pavlovic (2 years)
Joe Smith (expiring)
Damon Jones (expiring)
Eric Snow (expiring)
2008 1st round pick (from Cavs)
2013 1st round pick (from Cavs)

In this deal, the Cavaliers get their second option and post player in one trade. Cuttino is a huge contract and doesn't play half as well as he used to, but he will be a good back-up for West. Kosta Perovic is not in GS future plans, and the Cavs can give him a few minutes per game to try and learn from Zydrunas. Cavs lose 3 1st round picks, including this season's, but they make-up for this year's pick by getting 2nd rounders from GS & the Clippers.

Golden State picks-up another sharp-shooter in Daniel Gibson, a top defensive Big-man, who they will be able to better utilize in their fast-paced system, 3 million in cash, the Cavs 2nd round pick next year, and their first rounder the following year. Ellis slips into Baron's starting spot, while Gibson takes Ellis' role off the bench. The Warriors get faster, cheaper and stronger, and the pick-up of Varejao allows them to shop Harrington.

The Clippers get rid of their biggest cancer in Mobley, and reduce payrole for the big '09 free-agent period (by 24 million dollars), while picking-up a 1st rounder this year, and a future first rounder. Snow will retire; Damon will back-up the pg spot for the year, the Clips will take a look at Sasha and see if he can fit their offense, and if he does, then this trade may become a huge steal for them. They lose an aging all-star, but don't miss a beat as Nick Fazekas will get more playing time and their new, quicker style begins to blossom.

Wow you really swung for the fences with that one...

Davis and Brand in one deal???

It's not that it's terribly unfair... it's just way lopsided in favor of the Cavs... no reason for the Warriors to do this because Baron IS an expiring contract.

I like your thinking!!! Come strong or don't come at all, if we could only convey that message to the Lebrons then this team would be ahead of the curve.

heathmalc, this is not trading in NBA Live or 2K.. You do not give up average and mediocre players in return for all stars.. It does not work that way.

That's why this issue is so important! Acquiring B.D. can and would elevate us to Lakers status and beyond. Get it done Danny
