Only if Artest comes to Houston. Otherwise, i'm not giving up Battier.

Actually Green had a very strong finish to his rookie season in Boston and a very nice sophmore season over there.
The change of scenary was bad for him , he probably took things for granted and though he will play a lot but the team drafted Brewer and they just gave up on him.

I hope he learned the lesson.

I thought you couldn't wait to trade Battier/Landry for Hedo/JJ :-?

I don't think you realize how important Battier's defense and basketball IQ really is to this team.

I'll do it if Orlando add a first rounder.
Artest or Turk both work for me.

I'm putting my trust in Adelman's hands. Unlike Van Gundy, Adelman knows what we need.

yeah i personally hope we dont trade battier at all. we wouldnt get a fair return. his intangibles dont show up on stat sheets and they also dont show up on trade proposals. i cant think of another player that possesses what battier has: defense and basketball intelligence. like roosk said, some people underestimate battier and want him gone. just imagine who would guard the elton brands, kobe bryants, lebron james, and dwyane wades in the league.

Battier won't be counted on to guard Elton Brand.

Yer. As much as people here harp on how we need someone to shut down high scoring power forwards, you'd think they would realize that scoring load is much more concentrated at the sg/sf positions (assuming, of course, that there is overlap between the people that want to trade Battier and the ones that still want a "good athletic defensive pf/c to grab rebounds and take fouls away from yao").
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

I think if we get some decent backups at the 4,5 position. Adelman will be able to spell Yao more time on the bench. Hopefully he has enough common sense, anyhow.

I hope we do get Gil and relegate Tmac to that "coveted" 3rd scorer. Both to me are chuckers, but Gil is a better shooter. Since, T-mac loves to be a puss and pass when the game's on the line, he can be left to doing just that.

Why dont we get Lebron James too. I hear he's pretty good. That way we can relegate Tmac to be the 4th scorer.

Chances of getting Lebron = 0. Gil is opting out and him coming here is at least possible.

Not positively adding to a thread by stating impossibilities or just bashing (stating sarcastic remarks) is homo. No offense Guy.

How? Those guys are the only ones with trade value.

Obviouly not per Mr. Morey. He clearly says that value can be attained in alternate sources via expiring contracts. That's what we have set on.

History has proved him right. Gasol, Ray Allen back when he was a Buck, Baron Davis, Sheed were all traded for expirings. The question is can we be patient?

Gilbert Arenas is projected to get the Max or near Max.You think he's gonna come here for the MLE? Agent Zero is crazy but he ain't that crazy. Yea, he's gonna turn down a 90 Million contract to come play with Tmac and Yao. He has ZERO (none, nada, nil) chance of coming here unless we move one of our stars.

Yeah I agree that we need to keep the core of Yao, TMac, Scola, Landry, Alston, and Battier together. We'll probably have to wait out getting our 3rd offensive option until the trade deadline.
