Thi shooting guard Bol Kong, a Sudanese player who has lived in Canada since he was 7 years old, has a scholarship offer from Gonzaga, but he's been turned down three times for a visa because Sudan is listed by the US gov't as a "state sponsor of terrorism".
WTF is up with this?!! The kid hasn't lived in Sudan for more than 10 years! What if the U.S. had refused visas to other Sudanese players -- like Luol Deng?
UNLESS the government has specific evidence against this kid, just let him come to the States to get an education and play basketball, already!
Isn't the US supposed to be the land of freedom and opportunity? How about the gov't actually living up to that???!!!

If he has lived in Canada for 10+ years then he should apply to be a Canadian citizen. Then he will have no problem if he wants to go to Gonzaga.
But if he is Sudanese and he wants to remain only a citizen of Sudan then he will have to take the punishments that come with it.
