Who Are Guys Wizards Players Hate?

Post#1 » by likwitdesi » Thu Jun 5, 2008 5:42 pm

I can think of two guys:

LeBron-pretty much everyone knows why...I think Gil is the only Wizard who is friends with him

Pierce-Caron dislikes him because Pierce said last season that his being injured was the reason Caron made his first all-star team...I also remember Gilbert flicking him off in a game a few years back...that may have just been friendly though

A few years back we had a nice lil rivalry growing quickly with the Baby Bulls. Especially Eddy Nutsacker Curry. And Nocioni. I so wanted someone to break his nosioni.

These days, its got to be Lebron.

Plus whoever Gil has decided to have a grudge against as short term motivation. If Jamison and Butler hold hard feelings, they don't show it so readily.

Yeah that was his favorite player when drafted, he modeled his game after him, and they had a similar draft story (both passed over for lesser talents, both drafted at #10). Caron always says good things about Pierce, but always goes at him double hard, trying to live up to his one-time idol. I doubt there's any real dislike. Just ballin.

Damon Jones. I don't have any proof to back that up, but it's a pretty safe assumption, don't you think?

I really think Haywood dislikes Big Z. They are always really physical.

Gilbert and Kwame don't like each other.

Fact is I think DeShawn's the only player on the team capable of actually hating a guy. As far as Gil is concerned he and LeBron are pals. Gil is still a bit of a fan in an NBA uniform. He might manufacture dislike to motivate himself, but it seems to be limited to coaches and concepts more than players. Bragging rights are more important than crushing the enemy.

Brendan Haywood and Antonio Davis had a bit of a competitive dislike. Brendan may have a player or two against whom he holds a grudge.

Nope, Kwame apologized and Gil accepted it. I doubt Gil really cares.

We hate him, DeShawn dislikes him, but apparently he and Gil are friendly.

edit - I don't know about Wiz players but Wiz fans...

LeTravel and Kobe.

The wiz board folks (and other RealGMers as well) who have met my
younger daughter will appreciate this.

She gets SI for kids

the most recent issue has LeBron on the cover and a story on Kobe
as well. She defaced the cover writing Whiney crybaby and LeTravel
over the appropriate parts of the cover. And on the Kobe thing it
now says Why Kobe is a jerk instead of whatever it said before.
Gives me some pause that I've gone too far but maybe not.

Just curious, do you find the fact that "DeShawn is the only player on the team capable of actually hating a guy" a good or bad thing? Personally, I think the hate is a good thing. It's good seeing players get angry and playing their assses off. Although, it is true some players play worse when angry. But I think this team plays better with that chip on their shoulder.

I'm kinda sick of all this friendliness on the court. On the court, you are enemies with the other team. The players on the other team are an obstacle to your ultimate goal; winning the game. Like the whole KG and Sheed thing embracing each other for a elongated hug. I realize they're friends, but on the court they shouldn't be.

They do go at it, don't they?

Somehow, I think that they have grudging respect for one another, maybe even like each other. If nothing else, at least when they play each other, it's likely to be a slow grind-it-out game - the type of game suitable for each guy to get big minutes.

Remember last playoffs when EJ benched Haywood, Z told the media that he was surprised because Haywood does a decent job on him.

O man. I remember Nocioni going off for 20 rebounds or something like that against us Game 1 or Game 2. Deng and Curry were out that series right?

I applaud you good sir, as the good book itself says in Proverbs 22:6, "Train a child in the way he (or she) should go,
and when she is old she will not turn from it."

I left out one of the funniest parts

the screaming headline on the cover was the question whether
LeTravel would lead the Traveliers to the championship...
she crossed out that part and wrote lead them to the D league.

Too funny.
