Why would Kobe Bryant rape some fugly 18-year-old from Colorado? He has smokin' hot 18-year-olds trying to jump his bones by the thousands in LA every weekend. The whole premise was (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

Without getting into a "did he actually do it" debate. Rape is generally about power, not sex.

The premise wasn't that he wanted to get laid and couldn't find anyone so he dragged some chick to a room kicking and screaming. The premise was that they were getting into it and she said no and Kobe, being a competitive egoist, wouldn't have that/took offense so he raped her.

Don't ever get into bed with an NBA superstar and then act like you don't wanna let him shoot free throws.

Not sure where you get off saying Wilt was beloved, he wasn't. He whined more than a little ("nobody loves Goliath") and behaved badly on a number of occasions (Fan, "How's the weather up there?" Wilt "It's Fine but . . . spits on fan . . . looks like it's raining down there" to say nothing of showing up only when he felt like it as a coach in the ABA, etc.).

Players weren't under as much scrutiny then. Wilt, however, was a more interesting interview than Kobe who is pretty cliched at best . . . Wilt was a very intelligent man with a dry sense of humor. That does matter, Barkley has gotten away with a lot of stuff that any other player would have been vilified for because he's just so much fun to listen to.

I'm not arguing that being an alleged rapist is worse than being sexually promiscuous. However, if Shaq were to come out and claim that he has been with 20,000 women do you think it would have an overall positive impact on his career? Probably not.

Wilt wasn't universally loved but he was engaging on a personal level, signed autographs all the time... he wanted to be liked. Kobe isn't, or at least wasn't, like that.
