Will Kobe have 2 jerseys retired?

Post#1 » by War3player » Fri Jun 6, 2008 1:59 am

Kobe #8 - 3 championships, countless records broken ("youngest player to ___________") before Lebron came around

Kobe #24 - to be determined.

If Kobe just retired before changing to #24 he no doubt would of had his jersey retired.

So which # will be retired then?

Kobe has talked about how he is like on 2 journeys (the younger journey with Shaq, and now this one without Shaq). Maybe he meant it literally and thus the # change.

Why in the world should LA retire two jersey ? They'll basically ask him what jersey he wants to have retired and retire that .

You just can't retire every number retire one special number for one special player don't just retire everything. He wasn't that great with the #8 . He's become the great player he now is with the #24 . Let the old immature Kobe with the #8 just die.

Maybe #8 will be unofficially retired by not being assigned to anyone ever.

He's played his whole career (thus far) with one team. They'll retire one number.

EDIT: Have we run out of decent questions to ask?

If he would have been traded this year they would have retired #8 someday... now that he's probably sticking around for good and has made the finals post-Shaq, the team will probably want to retire #24 but it will ultimately be up to him. I seriously doubt the team will retire two numbers for him. I also cant see him choosing #8 over #24. It wouldnt surprise me to see someone else wearing #8 before Kobe retires just to put that question to rest.

His only chance of getting two jerseys retired is if he ends his career on top with a different team.

Ah, I forgot about that.

Well, Kobe would have two different numbers retired.

But damn, getting your number retired by a conference rival that you continuously beat over the course of your career? I don't think even Kobe can top that.

Lol Miami will probably retire Kobe's number is Riley is still in charge. He retired Jordan's because he feels like no one will ever meet his legacy, he'll probably retire the guy closest to it.

Keep dreaming buddy. Miami's #8 already been reserved on the rafters for GOAT 'Toine Walker.

He changed the game by making the four-point shot a weapon.
