I gotta believe that Houston is better than Pike... on so many levels. Houston was plagued with injuries... Pike is just Pike. No excuse there.
We all know we need vet. min players with the way our team is structured salary-wise... might as well be Houston.
How surprised were we with Hill this past season?
Just saying...

Oh I absolutely agree, I just hope we don't sign him to a TWO YEAR DEAL like we did with Pike.

Maybe something like a two year deal with the second being a team option. How old is he?

This is a bad idea
Miami tried this same little experiment either last year or the year before last with Penny Hardaway. From what I remember, all he did was keep the seats warm and dominate during garbage time
If they are going to use the vet min., it would be nice if they could find a vet that could be productive....on the court....during meaningful playing time

IIRC penny actually started some games last year
anyways, i personally would be all for signing houston, we need vets on the roster, we wont have pike, he can sit on the bench and play pikes role for all im concerned. hes a good vet that can contribute by teaching our young guys

Now that I think about it Kerr and Sarver were probably interviewing Hornacek to try and pry him out of retirement for the vet min.
Come on, they're not fixing their cheap image by doing this. I can live with one vet min guy like Grant Hill but please get some younger guys on the team. These dudes all end up breaking down at some point in the season anyways.....

Just how young does a team have to be to win a championship? I know Houston is old, but I don't think we need to be as concerned with age as most other teams in the league.
We have the best training staff in professional sports. Tell me O'Neal didn't look better. Grant Hill? Nash pretty much has back paralysis and he's still one of the best in the game.
I don't think anyone on here is saying.. "Houston? Ya, lock up the championship, it's ours."
But let's just say:
Houston >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Piatkowski
And call this conversation over.

What about Isiah Thomas? I don't think he's doing much nowadays. That would be such a solid unit of champions. Maybe we can get a bulk discount.

Please tell me when we're going to quit putting our hope in washed out retreads and actually get back to the business of team building.. When will we learn this lesson?
Your 2008 1st round draft pick - Allan Houston
"With the experience that Allan can bring to the table, without needing to waste time trying to develop him, we feel he can help us win a championship this year. A mid-round draft pick won't be able to do that. This also gives us more financial flexibility down the road."
