Sorry, but if you're not going to make the efforts to make your post intelligible, I'm not going to waste my time trying to make sense of bad arguments.

WTF are you doing on a basketball forum?

Media picks an MVP, we (fans) can dismiss it or accept it or do whatever the f-ck we want with it

These posters aren't just slamming their heads on their keyboards, but are presenting some support for their claim

No need to put everyone down (even if you include yourself), RealGM is for fun.

The Heat only won three fewer games than the Suns, and Shaq had a bigger impact on both ends of the floor.

Things to keep in mind:

The Heat were a lot better than their record in '03-04 because of their improvement over the season. It's simply unreasonable to presume they wouldn't have made the conference finals had they not made the trade.

More than that, the Heat in fact did lose Shaq for some time in the conference semi-finals in '04-05. What happened? Nothing. The team did fine. They were able to beat the 4th best team in the conference without Shaq.

So I really have to ask where exactly Shaq's giant impact was.

Shaq only lost the MVP race because one of the Nash voters put JAMAL MASHBURN in the top-5 of his voting over Shaq. These purported superprofessional media voters that you're so vehemently behind often stoop to stupid and petty tricks for their favorite player to get voted in.

I don't understand why people don't look things up when they aren't sure. Particularly when others of us actually remember stuff that happened not that long ago.

So for your benefit:

-There was a "super undeserving" guy who got a 5th place vote, but it wasn't Mashburn, it was PJ Brown.

-But it didn't make a difference. Nash would have won regardless. It was a close vote, but not *that* close.

Didn't realize Nash's career was over, isn't this topic a little premature?

Nash = overrated. When Amare went down, it was Marion that did all the dirty work and kept that team winning

And he's a 2x MVP that's never been to the Finals...just makes it that much worse...

Fun?

Exactly, its to spend that spare time in the office during slow times or at home when your bored.

I agree with you, so thats why I dont take it too seriously, compared to some here, who blatantly make proclamation as if they matter.... we only discuss this because we can....

And to ManLion or what ever his nickname is...

WTF?, seriously, unintelligible discussion? burble? rant?... you only want to discuss or debate things when they are in theses form?... go suck a nut back in university/college, im over that phase. This is, as the guy above said, for fun....

In the end though, your opinion is moot as mine, just mine is slightly less direct as I dont blatantly label players this or that. (in this thread anyways), unlike yourself who so so so obviously didnt watch many Suns games during those Nash MVP reigns..

and to the guy, chubby whatever, saying Marion was HUGE for the Suns when Amare went down.... NO $HIT sherlock!

Im sure many if not all Suns fans will agree with that statement, I honetly believe he was equal or just slightly below Nash in terms of overall team impact that season. But Nash gets the nod slightly because he made useful players out of Tim Thomas (yes you heard that, he looked good with Nash out there), he made Raja Bell matter in the offensive side, made Diaw get a 9 million a year contract (13.5/7/6/53% FG 1.1 blocks, he was GOOD then, although I agree its he can still be the same its Amare statblocking him at the moment)... and lets not forget Nash put up HUGE games that season like 35 points 17 assists, 42 points 15 assists etc... he was carrying the Suns like a donkey mule in Pakistan.

I said Paul only had one fewer win on a team that clearly had less talent. Maybe the people who are well-informed can learn to read. It took me two sentences to make an argument for why Paul should have one. The first was individual accolades. The second was team success. Yes, those generally are the two criteria for MVP. However, unlike you said, there is no established criteria.

This year's MVP race was close, though. It was obvious by the last week of the season that unless Paul could win the conference, that Kobe was going to get it for a lifetime achievement award.

Are you trying to be a schmuck? Because that's how you're coming across.

Why would i try to be a schmuck? I don't have to try, it comes natural to me.
I get frustrated when i find myself debating with people why Kobe got MVP over Paul. At the end of the day, Kobe led his team to #1 in the West. So when people try to tell me that Paul is more deserving i ask them why does a player on the losing team in the Finals not get a chance to win Finals MVP? W's are all that matter in this game and if Kobe led his team to more W's than he is the more deserving candidate for the award. Paul is without a doubt a runner up but that's it.

Well, the bottom line is Nash had at least one legitimate MVP, so he deserved to be an MVP but, hasn't reached the finals.

That's a really strange way to put it, since obviously Nash wasn't literally going to be filling in for his missing center. I am curious how many games you think they'd win if they had Amare and no Marion.

Meh. He was close last year.

I mean, what does that factiod even mean? McAdoo didn't make it to the Finals until he was averaging 10 and 4. That makes him better or more deserving than Nash? If he is better or more deserving, it has nothing to do with making the Finals. Who cares?
