Where is House?
Cassell can't make any open 3 pointers, takes way too many shots for the minutes he's out there, and is generally a selfish mother ****. In game 1, he made a few shots, but that's what made me more nervous because inevitably, he was going to be a selfish **** thinking he's Kobe+Jordan+Bird.
And of course, in the 2nd half, there was a stretch of possessions where he was forcing up shot after shot, almost giving the game away single-handedly.
Bottom line is, he did have his moments, but those positives are far less than all the negatives he brings. And I have no reason to believe that House couldn't have made some of those open shots and wouldn't have forced up shots before anyone else got down the court, single-handedly killing our momentum.
I hate wishing physical harm on people, but Cassell is forcing me to do so. I think it's time for Scal to earn his money and knock his ass out during their next practice.

Agreed... or we can have Perk jump into Cassell to injure him, since that's his best move as a basketball player. I knew having Perk and Scal become friends was gonna be a bad idea.
Play Eddie.
Play Eddie.

Ok, so Cassell made a few shots in the 1st half, but he ended up with 4-9 from the field. Pierce took 10 shots in 31 minutes. Why the **** does Cassell take 9 shots in 13?
And are you saying that Eddie House wouldn't have had at least the same number of positive moments in 13 minutes as Cassell without as many negative moments? I doubt it. A broken chair could net better than Cassell out there.

CASSELL TO NUGGETS?
Boston guard Sam Cassell told the Rocky Mountain News before Game 1 of the Finals he "definitely will talk'' to the Nuggets when he becomes a free agent on July 1.
Cassell, 38, reiterated what he said in October. He wants to play one more season before getting into coaching, and he believes Nuggets coach George Karl can help.
"George is a hell of a coach, and he's also a good friend,'' said Cassell, who played for Karl in Milwaukee.
After Cassell's contract was bought out by the Clippers in February, he considered signing with the Nuggets but chose Boston because of its better record.
"I had some heart-to-heart talks with George, and he understood,'' Cassell said. "Look where I am now.''
Cassell to the Nuggets? How bad would Denver be? I laugh imagining Cassell running with Melo and Kenyon Martin on the fast break, with Sam pulling up for a 28 foot jump shot.
Screw Sam Cassell

The problem with House in this series is that the Lakers can put a lot of pressure on the ball with Fisher, Bryant, and Farmar and at the same time don't have the quickness to expose Sam defensively. He absolutely looks for his own shot too much but he hits some daggers and he did it last night.
You do realize Eddie is shooting the ball 25% from the field in the postseason? Sam isn't any better but at least he can dribble.

25% shooting on 4 shots that come from within the offense is different than 25% shooting that comes on forced shots. I don't mind Cassell posting up Fisher because he has size advantage. However, once he made a few shots, this mother **** thinks he's Jordan and starts launching shot after shot.
When he misses, at least he'll only kill us for a few possessions, but when he makes it, it's much worse because he'll kill us for more possessions. The less Cassell plays the better.

That is fair tom but the reality is last night it was 45% and he puts a lot of pressure on the defense. You act like the guy has been some jag his whole career like Eddie House and not a 20ppg all star. He probably took 3 bad shots last night he just happened to nail 2 of them. I think he should play the way he plays and it is Doc's job to get him out of there before he starts hurting the cause.

tombattor, time for you and me, two of the most vocal Sam critics on here, to undertake some special ops to "remove" Sam from the rotation. Operation Anti-Gollum, if you will...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I think you've nailed it on the head! That's the problem. People, including Doc, still are holding onto Sam from his glory days.
He's not that player any more. All he's got left is his ego, which forces him to play like the selfish **** he is. He should realize, it's not about him. It's not about him trying to score 20 in whatever minutes he gets. He has to play his role. Unfortunately, he still thinks he should be the star of the team.
I wish we had Kobe on this team in times like this because there is no way Kobe lets this piece of **** **** do this. KG's gotta grow a sac and put Cassell in his place. He lives in KG's house for God's sake. At least tell him to stop being such a selfish ****!

The thing is that it is Eddie House who has been known as a chucker throughout his career, but it turns out that he shoots less than Cassell! I also couldn't believe when he got the shotclock violation: The one time that he needs to shoot, he passes the ball!
That said he wasn't nearly as bad as he has been in the last few series, but I don't think he brings the same hustle or shooting range that Eddie brings. Eddie is still the best option at backup point guard. Cassell's successful postups on Fisher will be gone next game because they've already found a way to stop him by switching Kobe onto Cassell.

House isn't a chucker - he is just incredibly willingly to take the open shot as he is a great shooter. He also (and this is more amazing) runs the team better and pushes the ball better. He also plays better defense. Doc is screwing up big time with this Cassell stuff.
If that wasn't bad enough Rondo could have played more minutes. Rondo doesn't seem to get tired that easily at all. I detect no difference is the Rondo with alot of minutes and the fresh Rondo.

I definitely want to see Eddie getting some playing time! He is pure energy!
But Cassell was OK last night. He missed two open threes, I don`t mind that. However, that shot he took in the last quarter when he pushed the ball upcourt and noone was under the basket to rebound was absolutely terrible.
I would put Cassell in and try to post him up on Fisher a couple of time to see if he can make some shots. If he does you play him if not you don`t,
But it was funny to see lakers had to put Kobe on Cassell to stop him from posting up! That was hilarious!

House is shooting very poorly and historically is a poor playoff performer. He is not handling the ball better or running the offense better than Sam especially when you factor in the make up of the second unit. Eddie creates a breakdown offensively and forces us to use two of the big 3 on the court that is what Sam provides someone who can get his own shot, which allows Ray to get open looks as well. Obviously it would be nice for Sam to wait for Ray to come free and not take the first open look but part of what they are telling him to do is push the ball and be aggressive.
House is fine as a sub for Rondo with the first unit with Pierce on the ball, but the guy just isn't a primary ball handler or playmaker.
I think many are just letting their dissapointment and frustration with who Sam Cassell is color the view of what exactly Eddie is capable of.
When Rondo is right he should probably play the full 48 it isn't like he is going to get tired.
