Does anyone know how you get into becoming a scout for an NBA team? I've always been interested in giving it a try. Thanks

You go to college and study that and then you go and meet with team officials and if they hire you then you made it lol. Same way as a GM. You can't jump straight from college to NBA scout. Work your way up.

Well I'm about to graduate college next year, and am single so I am willing to go basically anywhere. Where would you send your resume etc. and what are they even looking for on it to potentially get hired? I realize I would not be a scout starting out, but am willing to work my way up.

You would send it to the address you get on the team's website through contact us. Then you would put you experiences in scouting things, and just put whatever you think will help your chances. Work your way up through the front office or something. Does that help at all?

I would presume that you would contact someone on the team's website as already mentioned. Also, I would contact some lower ranking team official. On NBA.com's page they have potential slots open for various jobs. Thus, I would act as if I am applying for one of these positions just to get into contact with someone in the organization.

Really I'm open to anyone, but since I am a Knicks fan I guess that would be the dream. I would also like Phoenix, Atlanta, New Jersey since I have family in all those places. Thanks again for the help guys
