Redd, Villanueva to Cavs?

Post#1 » by drewd » Tue Jun 3, 2008 5:38 pm

How about this trade, Cavs trade AV, Wally, Sasha, Jones, and Snow or Smith with their 09 first round next year with the 09 second round from the bulls they picked up in the last trade FOR 2 guys who want out of Milwaukee, Redd and Villanueva; also two guys with bad contracts, Bell and Simmons.

Buck fans what you accomplish in this trade is getting 21.6 million of expiring contracts in this deal. Plus two young players in AV and Sasha, and two more draft picks for next season when 21.6 million drops off.

The Cavs should use this years 19th pick to get Roy Hibbert.

The Depth chart
PG: West, Gibson
SG: Redd, Bell
SF: James, Simmons
PF: Villanueva, Wallace
C: Ilgauskas, Hibbert

So would this trade be better for the Milwaukee fans, if we can trade snow before he gets his retirement papers in. If not, but Smith in Snow's place.

I'm not so happy with giving up the additional second but of course, I'd do this deal at the drop of a hat. And I'm not even a Redd fan.

I'm with Outlaw.
The 2nd pick still would'nt kill the deal in my book.
As the days go by, the Bucks seem to be heading to the top of the list for teams that will make some moves of interest to the Cavs.

Bucks fans would be in a uproar. From what I hear, this wouldn't even get Redd alone. I on the other hand would do this deal. I don't know if the Bucks do this though

This trade is a no-brainer.

Though in your depth chart, you scared me with Hibbert. I'll be pretty pissed if we draft him.

In any trade for Redd we are going to have to take back some bad contracts, and the Bucks have quite a few to choose from. We are looking at Gadzuric, Simmons, or even Bell, and likely a combo of one of the first two and then Bell. How on earth any of those guys got the deals they did is beyond me, but again, without taking at least one of them there's no way they do a deal.

The problem for MIL has/had is as a small market team, they had to overpay to retain or attract guys like Simmons/Bell.

In the old days it was better to overpay because at least you could extract some trade value worst case scenario. However in today's luxury tax NBA those guys actually have negative trade value due to their contracts...

great deal i'd do it in a second, however as stated before MIL would defently want to send simmons, gradzuric or Bell to the cavs as part of this deal so we would have to send more, maybe damon and/or sasha.

and also you shouldn't pay attention to the bucks fans on this forum or any other bucks fans, they act as though redd is one of the all time greats asking for all the cavs young talent and multiple draft picks. it comes down to the MIL orginization and what they want not the fans

Most of us hate Redd. We just know that taking back crap(no offense) for him isn't going to get a trade done. We are just realists.

i understand you don't want crap, but like it or not the bucks are rebuilding and the cavs aren;t going to give up all our offensive weapons and young talent and future picks to get redd a player that wants out of MIL.

Its close to the same thing that we went through with Kings fans for the last year and a half. They overinflated the value of Bibby sooo much due to their own personal allegiance that most of them were absolutely impossible to talk to. When I saw the package that the Kings finally got for Bibby I literally laughed my ass off, and wanted to go tell their ringleaders off, but thought better of it. Now, Milwaukee fans arent that bad since many of them have turned on Redd, but it still exists, however, since deep down even if they wont admit it they all still love him.

So would this trade be better for the Milwaukee fans, if we can trade snow before he gets his retirement papers in. If not, but Smith in Snow's place.

I'd do the above deal. Charlie Bell and Simmons could contribute on this team off the bench I think.

Charlie Bell played bad this year but he is actually pretty good, he can even play some PG.

Why would the Bucks ever do this trade? "This sounds like a good idea, lets trade our only star player for a journey man forward and a pure hustle player"

This is the Buck's equivalent to the the trade:

Andrew Bogut and Desmond Mason for Lebron James and Daniel Gibson

That is truly overvaluing who you have in this deal. It's not as though, Charlie Bell and Simmons aren't journeymen and Simmons even has a bad contract. Sure Villanueva and Redd might be too much. But don't act as though this is a bunch of stellar players your offering. Fact is, they are a bunch of losers. Whether is sinks or floats it's still a bunch of crap.
