Kobe has to beat this veteran team of KG, Allen & Pierce.
If he does this and wins a few more then he can be mention right there.
This is a great test of his greatness.
Of course it is a team Game, but Boston Star Power seems to be greater than LA's.
Gasol is not close to KG
Odom is not close to Pierce
These could get close at the Staples Center.
In a 7 game series the better team wins.
Kobe has to do it with Phil at the helm.
Allen is pretty good to match up with Kobe at Boston
In LA Kobe will eat him.
Kobe great Allstar
Fish Great Veteran Point
Gasol Very good System Center
Odom very good PF at Home, Inconsistency
Radman - Good 3 point shooter, Defense improved but no match for a PP
Allen - Veteran All Star
Rondo - Consistent Point - Smart plays
KG - Best Big man in the Game today w/Duncan More vertaile and D is intense. Allstart
PP - Very good Offensive player and solid Allstar
KP - seems to offset with Radman both are somewhat of liabilities but that was only one game for Perkins who is a big body to get boards.
Posey, Brown, Cassell - Definite Edge at home, decent Road production
Sasha, Luke, Farmar, Turiaf - Edge at home but very little Road production
On Paper Lakers look outmatched even with KB
For Kobe to be greatest he has to play like it.
Whoever favored the Lakers Big were trying to make Sucker bets, Cause from the Start Boston should be favored to win it all with their record, home record and home court advantage and 3 stars vs the Lakers 1 , 1/2 and 1/2 or 2.
Basketball is a mental game Lakers will have to pick it up.

This was a sickening game for me...
I thought if we could get out and run, we'd take the first game and probably the series. That's how I saw the Hawks haveing success against this team... But we didn't...
Defense:
I think we did a pretty good job all in all... But we don't have an answer for when they have Cassel and Allen on the floor... One of them is going to get wide open shots... If they're falling, we're in trouble. Casel and Allen are too big for Fish so the one that Kobe isn't on is going to get his shots. I think Kobe and Sasha at the 1-2 might help but if one of them is off the floor there might be trouble...
KG will get his but when we double team, it seems to take us out of our rhythm. I think he actually missed some shots he would normally make so I'm not sure we've seen his best against us yet.
We did a good job on Pierce. If we can hold him down like we did last night, throughout the series, it'll have to be someone else that beats us.
Perkins was a non-factor. We did good on him.
Their Bench beat our Bench last night which surprised me. We can't let PJ Brown effect games...
Offense:
This is where it hurts...
It seems like the Celtics have an answer for everything we run. Holding Kobe under 30 is good enough for them. He'll get to the line more at home and will get in the 30s from time to time, but if our other threats aren't more effective, we're in trouble.
Pau has got to find a way to be more active on the offensive end.
Odom has got to find away to attack the basket and force fouls.
Radman did all right but when he has to work so hard on D against Pierce, he doesn't have much left on the other end. He needs help.
Fish was solid on D especially against Rondo but he isn't long enough to gaurd Cassel or Allen and he made some timely shots but if the other guys can't get it going, he's going to have to find a way to drain some 3s or slash and draw fouls.
Our Bench wasn't as effective as I hoped. I'm not sure we have the edge here that we've enjoyed throughout the playoffs.
Sasha hit some shots and was a pest. He should come in just about every time Rondo goes out.
Turiaf was solid on D and made some good shots, I can't really ask a whole lot more of him but Brown was just more effective off the bench.
Farmar could probably hang with Rondo but he doesn't really belong on the floor against Cassel.
To sum it up, it felt like we played at a high level all game but when push came to shove, the Celts just had a little bit more to show us.
All in all, game 2 is a must-win... If we can't find some adjustments by then, I think we're going to be in for a dissapointing end to the season.

when cassell and allen are on the floor, we need to let cassell beat us, i don't think he can hit his shots all the time, lakers need to shut allen down
the pick and roll worked pretty good, but they will probably adjust, lakers need to get out and run, i don't think either team will shoot as bad, i'm betting for more of an offensive game, which hopefully should favor the lakers

We can't beat the Celtics if Kobe plays the way he typically does in the NBA Finals on the offensive end. Being a low percentage, high volume shooter is going to kill us.
This is the one arena where Kobe has yet to prove to me that he deserves mention among the best. Regular seasons and playoffs (prior to the Finals), sure. He falls way, way short when it comes to his NBA Finals performances, and you have to be extremely delusional to think that Kobe should ever be mentioned in the same breath as Jordan in that respect.
Kobe in 20 NBA Finals games:
What concerns me is that it took all of 1 game to see the Kobe Bryant that none of us wanted to see, and I have a really bad feeling that this is the way that the series is going to go for him. If so, Celtics take it in 6, possibly 5.
Prove me wrong, Kobe.

Kobe, Gasol and Odom = KG, Pierce and Allen
And Ray Allen has hardly been a star this year. He is no better than Odom at this point.
