I've been watching a few interviews on ESPN and it's annoying and ignorant!
They're saying that Pierce faked it because he was carried off and was in a wheelchair pretending.
Do they not understand it wasn't Pierce's choice? The team doctors were the ones who said not to put any pressure on it and for him to be carried off the court.
It's not like he wanted that to happen. The doctors requested it. Sure he may have been hurt, not injured, but it's not like he wanted to make a scene out of it and asked to be carried off.
Man ... ignorance!

I didnt see those interviews but if so I just feel thats really disrespectful to Pierce...the guy is a warrior and battled through a tough injury to help his team win. I cant believe the media would do something like that. If Kobe did the same thing as Pierce we all know the media would be all over his jock for a legendary performance.

ESPN sucks (basket) balls!!! How can they say that the little bitch known as Rip played great while hurt, and then criticize the Pierce a treu NBA ironman because he was carried off. Did they want him to walk all the way to the locker room as risk damaging an unknown injury more, the C's were being cautious with Pierce seeing as how he is one of our best players and it is the finals!!! If it were Kobe Bryant they would be praising him for coming back into a game!

You have just been Perk'd!!!

Whether people think "exaggeration" and "faking" are in the same ballpark, it doesn't matter. The end result is the same. You're basically trying to downplay Pierce's performance, and that's what's really riling up some of these posters responding to this nonsense.
Anticipating a response such as "what makes you think I'm downplaying Pierce's performance?", I'll ask why go through all the trouble to try and prove Pierce was exaggerating? What's the point of making that point in the first place?
And where is all this "no apparent ill effects" coming from? He was playing through pain, not feeling no ill effects at all... he was limping after the game... maybe that was an "exaggeration" too? (what's interesting is that you can replace "faking" with "exaggerating" in any of your comments, and it still comes off the same).
But whatever. Enjoy the Finals.

Pierce has already said he regrets being carried off - he is well aware of the nonsense surrounding this.
It's a win win for the Celtics - haters (and Pierce haters) When he comes back if he plays poorly - well he is fine and not injured. He just isn't really that good. And Lakers only lost because of the "distraction" of the fake injury.

To be honest, I love Paul Pierce as a basketball player, and even though I wish he were different sometimes, I always enjoy watching him play.
When anyone every says "to be honest" you can bet they are lying. <g> Dude your one of biggest haters on this board and you have been for years when you were backing wigglestrue and his Ewing theory. You can't be serious..
Your as bad as Bill Simmons. First you come on the board and talk about how you think a player "you love watching" was faking an injury. Oh wait 'exaggerating" and then you follow up with this garbage.
Your not fooling anyone.

Click that link and listen to what they say. They say that Pierce faked it, and that he has the lowest pain tolerance.

This nonsense has to stop. PP has been in the game too long and has too much pride to fake something like that. He's never had a knee issue before and hearing it pop probably just freaked him the f*** out. Its probably the result of watching too many football and bball games and seeing acl's rip by the minute. I can't and wont blame him for that. the thought of blowing out his knee in his first finals game just screwed with his head so bad he didnt realize the injury wasnt that serious
