NYK/SEA/GSW

NYK:
Out: Rose, Balkman, #6
In: Harrington, #14

SEA:
Out: Collison, Watson, #4
In: Rose, #6, TE from GSW for 6.25Mil

GSW:
Out: Harrington, #14, TE
In: #4, Collison, Watson

* This is two separate deals. Collison to GSW for the TE goes down separately, then the rest of the deal.

Why for Knicks: Rose's contract expires in 2009, but they aren't going to be under the cap anyway, so they ight as well flip it for Harrington's which ends in 2010, just in time for Lebron. plus, Harrington will fit in great with D'Antoni. Balkman's not a D'Antoni guy anyway, but if Knicks fans really object, then Collins or Chandler would work. With 14 they can still get a good player (DeAndre Jordan? Donte Greene? Alexander?). Their salary situation doesn't move that much, but they do get better.

Why for Seattle: Collison's deal expires in 2011, and Watson's is 2010, so dealing them leaves only one long-term contract left (Ridnour's, who would be a great fit in NY, but I couldn't get it to work with out Seattle taking back James or Jeffries, which is too much of a burden). they get Rose's expiring plus a 6.25M TE which can get them a nice player. They only move down two spots, can still get Bayless, Gordon, Westbrook, etc. They'll be way under the cap for 2009 and then WAY WAY under the cap for 2010.

Why for Warriors:
Get a good rebounder in Collison, a good defensive PG to back up Baron (and Baron's buddy, to boot) and with #4, get Kevin Love. Balkman would be a good energy player off the bench, though maybe more once nelson vacates the bench. They add a lot of salary both this year and in the long run, but getting Love, getting bigger, and getting some D makes it worth it. Besides, it ain't my money.

I'm a Dubs fan, so if this is slanted, don't flame, just suggest tweaks. If I were Mullin, I'd be willing to throw in a 2009 #1, Perovic or perhaps Belinelli to make it happen, and substitute Chandler for Balkman, if necessary. Don't bother mentioning BWright, Monta or Andris, those are deal breakers from the Dubs/my p.o.v.

New York gets abused

There is no reason what so ever for Ny to do this.

They move down in the draft dont cut salary loose Balkman all for Harrington

Would be a tough sell. Sea doesn't do well and I'd doubt it works for NYK. GSW is moving up to 4 when #6 would serve the purpose. Getting Cohen to spend the extra $6+ mill and not shave talent elsewhere would be tricky.
CENSORED... No comment.
