having 50+mph wind gusts blowing ahead of a storm and then knocking out the power for about 20-25 minutes right at the beginning of the 4th quarter :banghead:
when the power finally came back on there was 45sec. left and the celtics were up 8 :noway:

not that i would have enjoyed watching the 4th anyway

Dude that sucks we get 50mph alot where I live... we start worrying about power around 75mph. Of course the mighty oak tree can change all that in any wind condition with a good broken branch.

Well - just got layed off today. Weird. Worked for this company for almost 5 years but have to say it feels like it was for the best.

I've been feeling like it was time for a change for some time. Now there's no question about it.

I would really recommend you guys to fill up your gas tank today this min. the barrel of oil jumped 10 dollars today. Quick tip, if any of you live in SD, it is cheaper to fill up your gas tank at a Pemex in TJ. If you have to do errands in Tijuana, make it a point to fill up and always ask for la Roja.

Props to Crack for the Comm thread. The cast of characters has changed alot over the last year and a half, but I always love to get away in here. It's almost always douche free, too. Ever notice that the dumbasses are naturally repelled?

Zen,

Sorry to hear that, man. I think it might be for the better. Especially for this board. Seriously though, good luck hunting. You deserve something really good.

Blame Rasho,

Thanks for the heads up. I'm going on a break right now, and my tank is pretty much dry.

i'm guessing a branch hit one of the power lines, but ya we don't get winds that high often, but its always windy here

Well I filled up today after reading the news, I had 2/3 of my tank filled for my truck and I filled it up with 40 bucks at $3.81 a gallon.

Thanks for the kind words bro's. Yeah - I ultimately think this is a really good thing. The job was getting really, really stale.

And CC, I was in direct marketing/ telemarketing. I won't miss it if I can find a new line of work.

Rasho - gas is currentl $4.40 for regular by me. In-f'n-sane.

Today has been a pretty piss poor day for the economy... what sucks is that early this week there were legit signs that the worst might be over and then a bombshell came today and everything is falling apart.

Zen-what town are you in?

B.R.- Oh I think we're heading for an actual depression unless our vehicle paradigm has a miracle shift to non patroleum based fuels.(not that we don't already have the tech)

Pardon the term but there is a difference between being knocked down(recession) and being knocked out(Depression). I don't believe our economy will be knocked out.

I know you live in Teaneck.

I know it's like one year early for me to think about colleges (well not really, senior next year, might as well start thinking about it now. and all, but how is Fairleigh Dickinson?

Im looking at affordable D1 track schools with a nice social life. You already know Im from the suburbs of NYC and I dont want to leave this type of place. Is Teaneck suitable for that?

I have other choices for colleges right now that I can get into and get a scholarship in, but I put it down to mainly 4 right now.

NYU, St. Francis, Adelphi, and FDU.

Let me know about Teaneck bro and let me burn that SAT in October lol.

And for Zen, Im sorry to hear about that my man. I m 17 and still searchin for a job for the summer...Ahhhhh...I hate the real life already...School makes ish look simple.

Hey guys, I have a q about this issue im having. I posted this on teh OT board, but I doubnt ill get much of a response over here and I know you guys got my back so i'll copy/paste it here.

----

this may sound stupid, but..

I have a desktop cpu that is connected to broadband internet through a modem. I am gonna buy a wireless router and a network card for a laptop, but have a question on how everything will connect.

Would it be possible to keep the desktop PC connected to the modem I have now (so I wont have to buy a wireless card for it), and have wireless internet throughout the house with the router and the card for the laptop? Or will it be required to buy two cards (one for the laptop and one for the pc)?

btw, does this cpu need a wireless card to connect online? Just the router? Sorry I dont know anything about this. lol

http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/hp-comp...83495.html

Thanks in advanced for the help.
