I'd have it as Gomes #1 and Bassy #2 as well. I'm pretty much assuming Richard gets signed since he fits a need and won't cost much.
I like Smith, but think it's going to be too cost prohibitive and we'll likely replace him with one of our 2nds this year or a player from a trade.
Ideal trade for the Wolves w/ Mem and Por.

Depends on the match-up. I think he tried hard (which was weird on this team) but his physical shortcomings made him an average at best defender. More than fine as a 2nd unit pg.

I never saw Telfair do much defensively. He has the quickness to be a pest, but he didn't make full use of it. Chris Paul he's not, thats for sure. He's not even Brevin Knight.
Maybe if he's a backup PG playing against backup he could be useful. I know he's still young, but I wonder how many years that will continue to be an excuse. He's a bad shooter and a poor defender, all we're paying for is decent passing and more awaited fulfillment of his potential.
He'd be a good fit with Mayo though as far as over-hyped high school players with an undeserved sense of entitlement. Then go draft Davon Jefferson, re-sign Gerald Green, track down James Lang, and we're really onto something.

With the rules the way they are it's pretty much impossible to completely shut down another point guard. Even the illustrious Chris Paul got torched by Tony Parker in the Playoffs.
Bassy was able to keep his man in front of him better than any PG we tried and was decent at getting around the pick and roll. His size limits him as a finisher and post-up defender, but he's an ideal 2nd team point guard.
His shooting PCT was pretty bad, but the number that sticks out to me is a 3.20:1 assist/TO ratio, which is pretty good (Better than Steve Nash's 3.04 even). Plus he was pretty much a model citizen with his attitude and work ethic throughout the season.
Rumor last fall was the McHale tried to extend him before the season, if that gives you any inkling into what they think of him.
Way to lump Mayo and Telfair in with green, lang and jefferson. why don't you add in doody ebi, leon smith, and joe mauer while you're at it.
I mean, no need to see anyone as an individual or anything when you can just make a broad generalization to fling poo at anyone you don't like and play amateur psychologist with their thought process based on some "whispers" from Draft Express.
I mean how dare these guys play so well in high school that they generate tons of hype. Why do they get so much hype? Because people like you and me like reading about it and buy merchandise and go to games and watch games that sell advertising that make teams and players money.
So whose fault is it really that they get so much hype at a young age?

Memphis gives up way, way too much here to move up 2 spots for mayo without addressing their need for a big man in the draft.
Yes, I don't think that Memphis gives away Conley. Maybe one of the other PGs. so try this trade I saw on the web . . .
Minnesota trades C Michael Doleac, 3rd pick, 34th pick to Memphis for the 5th pick, 28th pick and C Kwame Brown.
- then with the 3rd pick, Memphis takes Lopez and with the #5 , Minn takes K Love. With the 28th pick, Minn takes the best PF/C available.
this way, McHale gets his MinnyMe = K Love !

Doleac and Kwame are unrestricted free agents, so they can't be dealt, and that's not near enough talent to justify trading away #3.
