I was interested in finding out what posters here think about Brandon Bass

Welcome!

Bass is an ideal PF off the bench. He plays tough and can get some points down low. He'd be a great fit on our roster, and I'd surely welcome him if he could be had for cheap.

Welcome to the board. As for Bass, I think he's a decent player but not the answer we need at PF.

He looks like a starter 14ppg 8boards. Insert him in the starting lineup on this young team and watch him grow. BUT you have to beware because it could be possible that he is just playing hard for a new contract which is up after this upcoming season. If the Sixers trade something of value for him chances are that when his contract is up his agent will fleece the Sixers. I probably would do a trade like Reggie Evans and Utah's #1 for him and a 2nd rounder.

Thanks a mil bro!

But, with all due respect I had a slightly differnt opinion of him. I've watched him quite bit dating back to his LSU days and after watching him in the playoffs I think he could actually be a good starter and I believe he could be had for cheap since Dirk plays his positon. I looked on the Dallas board and some have mentioned the sixers and the 16th pick for him. Would that be cheap enough for you to pull the trigger?

I like that trade idea, and I actually projected similar numbers for him as a starter 16/9. Your concerns of him possibly only playing hard to get a new contract are valid but, he has played this way since college. That's why I thought he would be a good fit because he's an energy player and his style definitely fits what the team is doing IMHO

To me Bass seems like a more athletic, better jump shooting, Reggie Evans. He would be a good bench player as he is right now with the Mavericks, but for us he would probably start.

Bass is a pretty good player from what I've seen. He has a nice jumpshot and overall offensive game, something that would really help this team out. He is undersized(measured in at 6'7.25" in shoes) but makes up for it with a 7'2.5" wingspan. If we can get him for cheap, I would definitely go for it.

Bass is very close to the perfect PF to play with Thad. Bass rebounds and shots jumpers while Thad posts up. maybe we can trade Carney for Bass. I read the Dallas board and they were talking about a starting SG. I doubt they could get a starting SG better than Willie Green but Carney is perfect for Kidd.

I brought Bass up for several reasons:

1. i think his skill set would be a great complement to this team

2. he seems to be everything many dislike about Zach

3. he's 22

4. he's not expensive , so it wouldn't cost much if it didn't work out

Welcome to our board!

As for Bass, he'd be a nice fit here, but I dont know about the 16th picks. I'm not sold on him yet to be a starter.

I like Bass a lot but if I am giving up the 16th pick for him, I want Jose Barea also. I'd want to extend both guys also. I don't want Bass to break out and then lose him to FA.
Don't worry, that builds character and you can never have too much character...

What does everyone think of a trade where we picked up Bass and Josh Howard? Not sure what it would take probably a s&t if Iggy. What are the thoughts of everyone....

I don't know about anybody else but, Josh Howard's apparent off the court activities scare me
