What rebound? I was talking about the Pierce play where he was going toward the basket, there were no rebounds, you must be talking about something else.
OK I remember that play, but like I said refs even on that play stayed true to form. Paul had no shot at the basket because he didn't know what he wanted to do and refs bailed him out.

It's like I always say It's not how many calls the refs call it's WHEN they call the foul. Paul was going to miss the shot like he did anyway.

We grabbed the momentum all we needed was a stop and refs bailed them out and saved the game for the Celtics.

Honestly, I think you guys have ALOT of other stuff to worry about besides complaining and crying about the referees... How about not letting a Role player (Powe) go coast to coast right after a timeout...

LO needs to cut more in our offense to create better spacing, and give himself easy scoring opportunities.

This isn't rocket science.

Lamar is double edged sword. He needs to become a three point threat again for spreading of the floor. It looked much better out when there was pleanty of space to operate but Not having lamar in for defense hurt as well.

We need to put mbenga to drop kick one of the refs at some point of the game too.

Pierce hurt us the most both games, so I think it's time to focus on him. The Ariza card failed, and Kobe is the only guy who can defend him. I don't like Kobe chasing Ray Allen through screens anyways.

That brings in Sasha (or Farmar) to match up with Ray Allen.

So who's squeezed out, Odom or Radmanovic?

Radmanovic. For all of Odom's offensive struggles, he's played Perkins well, which was a major concern coming into the series. Radmanovic had a decent offensive game, he even grabbed 10 rebounds surprisingly, but he's still a major defensive liability, he's giving up easy points, and defense should be the higher priority.

Anyone else feel that Sasha should start, and Kobe should move to the 3 and guard Pierce....

Well the main problem was everyone had given up. But after kobe made some plays, some strips and truthful officiating, lakers saw hope and those stupid plays by radman and easy buckets by Powe diminished our chance of taking back what belonged to the lakers.

Another thing, referees are not perfect... they are human beings.. they make mistakes.. You don't think maybe you got away with a few calls too? how about the Vrad travel at the very end of the game?

Yes and you proved your theory of humans not being perfect by coming up on this board. Therefore you can feel free to stop making mistakes by running your mouth on this board.

Mr. Monday Night, Boston should worry about not letting a 20+ pt lead slip and almost have the game handed to the Lakers if not for a bail out call from the refs.

If anyone watched that game objectively they'll know the Lakers were screwed by the refs. Drive by KG, foul. Drive by Pierce, foul. Drive by Kobe, no-call. Seriously. Call it the right way even at home. I'll take fair calling on our homecourt if it's done on the road.

milesfides wrote:I thought the refs really decided this game. The ticky-tack fouls on Kobe, the noncalls on KG who hacked Pau several times (camera clearly caught his hand grabbing Pau's arm), Kobe was hacked several times going to the basket, Fish was body-checked by Pierce on the steal (noncall), they should have called a clear path foul as Radmanovic stole the ball at the end and was grabbed.

10 total free throws, despite our team attacking the rim all game (discounting the desperation 3-point barrage in the fourth)?

Hopefully we get a fair shake in Los Angeles.
Miles I'm glad you saw it like I did. I was wondering were others watching the same game or if it was me being caught up in the Twilight Zone

Actually what happened was a gamble. Phil surrounded Kobe with shooters, Kobe brought defenses in then kicked out, our shooters made a lot of threes.

That's probably not a wise full-length gameplan. The percentages are against it.

The problem was that Pierce was fouled, made it a 2-possession game, then we couldn't get Kobe the ball on the next possession.

Those were breakdowns that prevented the greatest comeback in playoffs history.

Screw the Triangle. Give the ball to Kobe and get the hell out of the way. He doesnt have to shoot the ball everytime but he has to create.

You also left out the part where Sasha decided to attempt to become a hero.

I'm sorry the game went down the way it did tonight guys. This was probably the most heart wrenching game I've watched since the season opener with the rockets(that crazy comeback only to lose to that Shane Battier 3pt at the end)

Lakers are not gonna get swept in this series, actually I expect them to win all 3 games in LA if they play with confidence like they did in the final 5 minutes of game 2. Now whether the refs will give us a fair game or not is another thing, but if we play great I still think we can win with bad refs or not.

Though 38-10 freethrow difference is still hard to swallow.

I don't really blame him. The clock was running down, and even if he hit a three, we need enough time to foul, then put up another shot. We needed to take a shot fairly early in the shot clock.

I'm just disappointed in the play that was called. We need a better inbounds play than that to get Kobe the ball.

And I think that now, even though I was against changing the line-up, in regards to rotations and chemistry, we have to start Sasha. Kobe running through all those screens is going to make him pick up silly fouls and will probably tire him out more. I want to see Kobe on Pierce for most of the game, at this point we have nothing to lose, might as well try it.
